What To Do While You Wait

I loved this.

I found this highly encouraging.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

What to Do While You Wait

Joyce Meyer –
1 min read

An open Bible and journal sitting on a table for ready for reading a daily devotional.
Adapted from Mornings with God

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

 Psalm 27:14 (KJV)
It is difficult for us to do nothing when we are waiting on God to either deal with our problems or show us what to do about them. When we must wait for some reason, we want to be doing something. Are you waiting on God to do something in your life right now? Here are some things you can do while you wait:

Pray.
Keep a good confession. Speak God’s Word and let your conversation agree with your prayer.
Stay positive. Express your thankfulness for everything God does for you, and do not complain.
Be patient. Continue being kind to others even when you are hurting.
Don’t be jealous, envious, or resentful of people who are not having problems.
While you are hurting, keep your commitments, if at all possible.
Trust God and declare your trust in Him.
While you’re waiting, also remember the times you have needed God to intervene in your circumstances, and He did. God is faithful, and as you wait on Him, you will not be disappointed.

Prayer of the Day: Lord, help me to trust You while I wait. Give me patience, strength, and a positive heart. I trust Your timing and believe You will always show me the way.

The Light Of The Morning

Food for thought.

He is no doubt the Light of the morning.

God Bless.

Christian Channel
Bible Name of God : THE LIGHT OF THE MORNING

THE LIGHT OF THE MORNING

2Sam 23:4 And [he shall be] as the light of the morning, [when] the sun riseth, [even] a morning without clouds; [as] the tender grass [springing] out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

There is a sunset. Then comes the evening star. Then the heavens are filled with multitudes of shining stars, and our eyes are bathed with Heavenly Light. Then they disappear as “The Light of the Morning” floods the earth with its Glory. He who has never witnessed the sunrise has not beheld the most wonderful and beautiful display of the Heavens. He who has failed to see in our Lord the “Light of Life” has lingered long in the darkness of a night filled with heavy clouds.

Lord, help us to view Thee in Thy wondrous Glory, and every day Walk -WITH- Thee in its Light. Amen.

Therefore

I know for a fact how tempted this little devotional is. I'm living it.

But I am encouraged after reading this and I wanted to share the wealth.

God Bless.

Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken. (NLT) -Isaiah 28:16

How can you know where you put your security? The answer lies in knowing what it is you fear. Jobless, or the death of a family member, or your loss of independence, perhaps. Each of these events can chip away at your security when it is placed on a vulnerable place other than the Lord. Begin to place your hopes and dreams by orienting your life more towards Jesus with a relationship.

Trusting God When

Leaving it right here.

God Bless.

Trusting God When You Don’t Understand

Trust God. This might have been the phrase a well-meaning friend said to you when you were going through something you didn’t understand. Even though they meant well, it doesn’t always feel like the most helpful advice. How do you just flip a switch and decide to start trusting God?

Well, think of someone in your life who you do trust. Why do you trust them? Is it because they’ve proven that they keep their word? Or maybe they’re easy to trust because you know their motivations. You believe that they love you and want the best for you.

The same is true about God. He keeps His promises, His motivations are pure, and He loves you more than you can imagine. If you want proof, you don’t have to look far to see how much He loves you. The Bible tells us a lot about His character and the motivation behind His actions.

Throughout the Bible, God shows us He is faithful. He blesses Abraham and Sarah with a child in their old age. He saves Joseph’s entire family from seven years of famine. He rescues His people from slavery in Egypt by parting the Red Sea. And in an ultimate display of love for us, He sends His only Son to die in our place so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him.

God has proven over and over throughout Scripture that He is a promise-keeper and His plans for us are good. If we look for them, we likely have countless examples in our own lives of His love and good intentions. Even so, it can still be hard to take the leap and trust Him, especially when we’re going through a difficult time. It doesn’t mean His promises are any less true.

It was likely hard for the people in the Bible to continue to trust God too. Abraham and Sarah struggled with infertility for decades before they had Issac. Joseph was sold into slavery and wrongly imprisoned so that he could be in the position to save his family when the famine hit. The Israelites were mistreated for centuries before God led them out of Egypt and into the Promised Land. And yet, in every single one of these stories, God was faithful. He blessed, He rescued, and He provided for His people.

As we read the Bible, we have the benefit of knowing the whole story. We can zoom out and see the full picture. We can easily see how God moved in the lives of His people to work everything for their good. Unfortunately, we don’t have the ability to see our full story. We only see a small piece of the big picture. When we’re zoomed in and focused on our momentary struggles, it can be hard to trust God. But if we take a deep breath and zoom out to remember the times God has been faithful to us and the promises He has made to give us an abundant life and an eternity with Him, we will find peace.

If you’re struggling to trust God, maybe you need to shift your perspective. Consider what you know about God’s character. If you don’t know stories about His faithfulness and His promises for us, read the Bible and get to know Him better. Reflect on the times when you’ve seen God move in your life and draw on those memories whenever you start to doubt. Notice when you’re too focused on your circumstances and choose to zoom out and meditate on God’s love. The more you practice trusting God in the small things, the easier it will become to trust God in the midst of a storm.

Whatever struggle, setback, or failure you’re going through, trust that God is on your side and is working everything for your good. You may not understand the big picture today, in five years, or ever, but because you know who God is and how deeply He loves you, you can trust you’re safe in His hands.

Conscious Of God’s Love

Food for thought mixed with so much encouragement.

God Bless.

Conscious Of God’s Love
Today : Conscious Of God’s Love

TODAY’S VERSE
“If God is for us, who can be against us? -Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? – For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:31, 35, 38 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
This is one of the greatest promises in the Bible. It is true for every child of God. Nothing – nothing – nothing can separate you from the love of God! You may feel like His love is distant, you may have doubts, you may be in circumstances where it seems like God is nowhere near, but the truth remains. His love is with you and He is conscious of you right now, this very moment! Stop and recognize His presence. Be still and know that He is your God.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Almighty God, my Heavenly Father. I renounce all negative beliefs that lead me to think that You do not care or have abandoned me. I pray that You will, this very moment, make me conscious of Your presence. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to really understand that nothing has or ever will separate me from Your love. Thank You for Your great love for me.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
Nothing can separate me from the love of God
See yourself walking against a strong wind. Dark clouds are coming in, a frigid temperature accompanies the strong wind. An ominous feeling comes over you and then you remember, “Nothing can separate me from the love of God!” Feel the peace of God come over you. Sense a deep faith welling up inside of you as it begins to give you joy. See God watching and sense His presence protecting you. Affirm deep in your heart, “Nothing can separate me from the love of God!”

Defined

Food for thought.

God Bless.

Today's Quotation:

I don't want my life to be defined by what is etched on a tombstone. I want it to be defined in what is etched in the lives and hearts of those I've touched.

Steve Maraboli

Today's Meditation:

I have never really thought about what I may like to see etched on my tombstone, but is what I have etched on a slab of stone really that important? For Steve, it is not. And I have to really ask myself: Is defining my life by the words on my headstone just my way of increasing the importance of my life? And moreover, who will find value in my life if it was defined merely by those words?

It is easy to pay a specified amount of money to have something etched on a tombstone, or even a billboard or signage, however, it will have little meaning outside of those who are affected by it. Therefore, if we wish for our lives to have a deeper meaning and purpose that extends beyond just ourselves, it is essential that we live our lives in ways that allow us to make a difference in the lives of others. This is the most permanent and defining way we can give value and meaning to our lives and to everything that we do--to "etch in the lives and hearts of those we touch." In doing so, we will write the chapters of our book in their hearts, and it will live on in them and in those whose hearts they touch.

Life is a journey. I want to live it passionately. I wish to share that passion with those who walk with me, as well as with those I encounter along the way. And on the day I die, I want my life defined by what I have contributed to making other's lives easier and more fulfilling. If I am able to someday look back and find that I have accomplished this, I will know that my life had great meaning and purpose.

Today's Challenge: Make the effort to positively affect the lives and hearts of others today.

Questions to consider:

Can we live our lives in service to others? What would that truly involve?

In what ways can you touch the lives of others?

What are the benefits or repercussions on your immortal soul if you die having saved a lot of wealth, power, or fame for yourself? What about if you die having saved a lot of heartaches for others?

For further thought:

Service is the rent we pay for being. It is the very purpose of life, and not something you do in your spare time.

Patient Obedience

Food for thought.

God Bless.

Patient Obedience

Phillips Brooks, a pastor in New England during the late 1800s, was known as a calm and relaxed man. But one particular evening a friend found him pacing the floor like a caged lion. When the friend asked him what was wrong, Brooks replied, “The trouble is I’m in a hurry, but God isn’t!”

Can you relate? Sometimes the hardest part of following God is waiting on him to move. At these times questions come fast and furious. “Why won’t our house sell?” “When will I hear something from the person who interviewed me?” “How long do I have to wait for my child’s (or friend’s or parent’s or boss’s) attitude to change?”

The Israelites discovered this truth firsthand. God led them through the wilderness, but not always at the pace they had hoped for. Yet God expected the people to obey regardless of the wait.

It’s not hard to imagine how difficult it must have been for the Israelites to be patient and obedient, because you experience this in your own life. Maybe you’re waiting for an answer to prayer. You know that God’s answer is critical, yet he doesn’t seem to be responding. You’re in a hurry, but God isn’t.

And while the hardest part may be the waiting, learning to trust God in the middle of it all is no picnic either. Yet Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Obeying and trusting God often require a measure of patience. “Obedience must be the struggle and desire of our life,” writes Phillips Brooks. “Obedience, not hard and forced, but ready, loving and spontaneous.” So Brooks waited, in spite of his moments of impatience.

Are you willing to wait for God, trust his timing and answers and obey—regardless of the wait?

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. (NLT) -Psalm 107:1

Remember that God is good. Give thanks for what he has done and the ways he has carried you through tough times. There is always beauty to thank God for in the chaos if we are willing to see it. Thank him for his creation, the breath in your lungs, the people you love, and for his gracious love.

Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” (NLT) -Matthew 19:26

There is no situation too difficult for the Lord to walk us through. We have to keep taking the next step forward with him, trusting that he will carry us through. Don’t be discouraged by the failures of men. Be reminded that God is able to do great things even in the most impossible seeing situations.

I Prayed To The Lord

Here is something to think and ponder on.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. (NLT) -Psalm 34:4

Do you ever feel the weight of your burdens and fears pressing down on your shoulders? Do you carry it around all day with you? Turn your heart to God and pray to Him. Hand Him your stressful thoughts and worries, He will carry your burden for you. After you've prayed, stop worrying and release them. Your Heavenly Father will watch over you.
