Inspire Me - It is Often Said

Food for thought.

God Bless.

Today's Quotation:

It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

Terry Pratchett

Today's Meditation:

In so few words, Terry so eloquently offers us a powerful perspective of living our lives to the fullest. Most of us are aware of the saying that "when we die... our life passes before our eyes." Well if this saying were in fact true, I would want to be able to cherish every moment of this experience. Yet I do not have to wait until then to experience it... my life is happening now, right before my eyes. All I have to do is learn to live with an appreciative awareness of life.

Although I do not generally spend too much time considering things related to my death, there is no gaurantee of security or consistency in life--one day I am going to die. And if I seek only to maintain the status quo in my life, I will surely fail to experience the deeper aspects of it. Likewise, if I put off until tomorrow, the life I can experience today, I will find that my life truly is passing before my eyes.

Living life now is truly the only perspective of life that really matters, for it is the only perspective of life over which we have any control. So what are you waiting for? Experience your life now so that on the day you die, nothing will be being experienced for the first time.

Today's Challenge: Live today with open eyes.

Questions to consider:

On the day you die, do you want to be able to say that you have already experienced the life passing before you?

How much of the deeper aspects of your life do you truly experience?

What is really important to you? Does your life reflect that feeling of importance?

For further thought:

It matters not how a man dies, but how he lives.

Samuel Johnson
