Advoid Envy

I don't care who you are. Everyone battles envy at some point. The problem is what we do with and handle it.

May you find encouragement in the word's written below.

God Bless.

Avoid Envy

A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones. (NLT) -Proverbs 14:30

Do you find yourself wishing that you were getting rewarded instead of someone else? Do you ever feel like someone else's life is so much better than your own? These are the moments that envy wants to sneak into our lives and steals our peace! The reality is that we each have been placed in our lives on purpose by a God that is in control. He instructs us to focus our thoughts on how we can serve him in whatever circumstances we are in rather than comparing ourselves to others.

Keep Showing Up

Some good advice written below.

We have to keep going and be an example for others.

God Bless.

Keep Showing Up

Adapted from the resource Strength for Each Day - by Joyce Meyer

Our obedience to God must not be based on our circumstances, because the circumstances of our lives are not always enjoyable. I have determined that when I go through a difficult time, I will simply keep showing up. This means I continue doing what I would do if I had no trouble. I keep my commitments, spend time with God as usual, and make a practice of continuing to be good and kind to the people around me.

Is it easy? No, it isn’t easy. Doing what is right is always easier if we feel like doing it, but we are to give thanks and bless the Lord at all times (see Psalm 34:1). In addition, we are to continue to obey Him at all times.

Doing what is right when it is hard always helps us grow in Christian character. Jesus did this regularly, and we are called to be transformed into His image and let Him be our example in all things. If you are going through something difficult right now, just keep showing up and doing the right thing. In time, your trouble will pass, and you will have gained a victory over the enemy.

Prayer Starter: Father, help me to be strong in You and keep showing up and doing what is right, no matter how I feel or what my circumstances are like. Thank You.

We Can Allow Our Fears

Some food for thought and encouragement to keep striving for a bigger and better life in the One who created you.

God Bless.

We cannot allow our fears of failing to keep us from reaching our full potential.

Too often do we allow fear to paralyze us. We sit and wait until we are no longer afraid, when we could have acted long before. God has a plan in place for you, and it may require you to step out of the realm of your comfort zone. You may be uncomfortable. You may be scared. You may not feel that you are ready, but you will be when it’s time.

Fear is nothing. Fear is a mirage. It’s a temporary emotion based on a temporary situation. A tool that the enemy uses to keep us stagnant. Fear is a natural response to the unknown, but you can’t allow fear to control your life.

Often, fear is what comes before change, and change is necessary for growth. Your want for success and happiness must be stronger than your fear of failure.

Your faith must triumph over your fear. God puts us in situations of discomfort for a reason.

2 Timothy 1:7 says that The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and of love, and of a sound mind. Know that in everything you do in His name, you will be prosperous. Failure is a stepping stone on the journey to success. It is not to be feared, but to be learned from. Fear is only a setback if you allow it to be so.

God is greater than your fear of failure.

The Biggest Reason

Wisdom.

God Bless.

The biggest reason why people give up, why people slow down, or why people don’t reach their potential is fear.

Fear that they aren’t good enough.

Fear that they will fail.

Fear that they aren’t qualified.

But God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies those who are called. You see this in the story of Moses. Of David. Of Saul. Of Noah.

These stories in the Bible speak of people who were fearful. People who lacked faith. People who were nobodies that became somebodies because of God’s plan.

Sometimes, life is tough. Sometimes we feel like Noah on day twenty. We’re stuck in the middle of the biggest storm of our life. We don’t know what else to do, so we hold onto the wheel and try to navigate to shore. When we place God outside of our circumstances, or we focus on what we want to do, then we find ourselves in trouble. When God isn’t in our circumstances, then things just don’t operate properly. The mechanisms don’t work.

But when God gets in the middle of it, it’s like pouring oil on a chain. Things begin to flow again, we begin to gain control of our ship, and the storm begins to clear up. When we have faith over fear, then fear is no longer an issue.

Faith is the backbone of belief. Faith is what keeps you going. Noah reached day forty as a result of his faith. Saul became Paul through faith. Moses lead the Israelites from Egypt because of his faith. David’s faith helped him defeat a giant.

Imagine the fear that these people felt. The fear of danger, the fear of failure, the fear of change. God doesn’t call you when you’re ready to be called, He calls you when it is time. It isn’t always ideal for you, but it’s what’s necessary.

1. What have you been called to do lately? How do you feel about it?

People Often Focus Too Much

Some food for thought and hopefully some encouragement as well.

God Bless.

People often focus too much on where they’ve been. Where they are from, the manner in which they grew up. The poor choices they’ve made, and the setbacks that they’ve experienced. But life isn’t about where you’ve been, it’s about where you’re going. The person I was isn’t the person I am, nor is it the person that I hope to become.

You see, God wants your attention to be focused on the present. He wants you to look straight ahead, because what He has for you is not behind you, but in front of you. Reminding yourself of your past mistakes does nothing for today. It doesn’t help you. People get so stuck looking back at the storms they’ve weathered that they don’t notice where their ship is headed. They look at their flaws and faults when they should be looking forward at the greatness that God has planned for them. They’re too focused on what the enemy is up to, and not focused on what God is doing in their lives right now!

Looking back is the same thing as dropping anchor. It is choosing to sit still, to be stagnant. To do nothing. Don’t drop anchor when God is telling you to open up the sails. Don’t let yourself focus on the negative when the positive is just within reach. Your best days are not to be left in the past.

Faith is the light that shines in through the tunnel. It is the compass that points north when you get off course. Faith is what you have left when everything else seems so far away. It isn’t always easy to have faith, but it is always necessary. Faith is what gives us as Christians the strength to carry on despite our circumstances.

Faith is easy to find when you have calm waters and clear skies. It’s when the clouds come in that Christians begin to struggle with their faith. It is when the water begins to get choppy and the wind starts blowing that faith starts to falter.

Have unwavering faith! Know that whatever is going on in your life has already been planned out. God has you covered.

Envy

Something to think about in the word's written below.

We can not allow envy to get the best of us. Be and stay encouraged.

God Bless.

Envy

But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying.(NLT) -James 3:14

Envy is one of the seven deadly sins because it plants a root of bitterness in our hearts. Envy tells us that either we aren’t good enough and deceives us into believing that our worth is measured by a certain level of accomplishment. You are valuable because you are God’s one-of-a-kind creation! Your worth is not measured by something you can do but is given to you by God. Avoid envy and the places that it likes to slip into your life.

But God Raised Him

Food for thought.

God Bless.

“But God raised him from the dead” (Acts 2:24).

God’s sovereignty bids us to fight the onslaught of fret with the sword that is etched with the words but God. The company is downsizing, but God is still sovereign. The cancer is back, but God still occupies the throne. I was an anxious, troubled soul, but God has given me courage.

The ultimate proof of providence is the death of Christ on the cross. No deed was more evil. Yet God not only knew of the crucifixion; he ordained it. Everyone thought the life of Jesus was over—but God. His Son was dead and buried, but God raised him from the dead. God took the crucifixion of Friday and turned it into the celebration of Sunday. Can he not do a reversal for you?

On The First Day Of The Week

Thank God for the story of Jesus' death and resurrection to provide an outline on the event's that took place while Jesus was on earth.

Now, we just need to soak them in and allow the Holy Spirit to show us how to put it all together for us to live a life worthy of His sacrifice.

God Bless.

Luke 24:1-8

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.  They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,  but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.  While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them.  In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:  ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”  Then they remembered his words.

Jesus lives! We worship the living God, the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords. Because Jesus rose from the grave, we have a hope and a future through Him. Our Lord and Savior gave it all! So often in life we "seek the living among the dead." We seek life, joy, or fulfillment in hollow shadows or a host of idols. Jesus Christ is the source of life, and He is alive and well. Praise be to God that He is risen and conquered the sin that held us captive. The Word has come to life, eternally. Amen!

Dear God, Help Me

Dear God, Help Me Trust You In Everything

Jan Slocum

Trust: assured reliance on the ability, strength, of someone 2.) one in which confidence is placed.
Trust, it seems easy enough to do unless you live in the real world and your blind to the chaos and the dysfunction that is taking place.

The word trust would not be the first word that comes to mind when navigating through the trials and tribulations this life is throwing at us. No sirree, it is not. The word’s failure and tired come to mind as trials and tribulation go to and fro seeking whom they can devour. These two are reeking havoc right now. They are not playing. In fact, these two are trying anything and everything they can to pick us off in any manner they deem fit.

And if you haven’t had the pleasure of dealing with trials and tribulations, well, good for you, let me know your secret. Between, covid, financial hardships, rising prices, wars, crime, depression, thoughts of walking towards the light at the end of the tunnel, and all those grinch’s out there who want to steal your joy and passion for life just to make themselves feel better about theirs, not mention all the issues that comes from the day-to-day living that is trying it’s best to suck the life right out of you is making it very hard to get out of bed and trust in the One to see you through these attacks.

And as I am dealing with the issues in my own life and the motivation to keep putting one foot in front of the other while keeping my tongue in check, I came across this piece of paper I have had tucked away for years. I know where the paper came from. A conference I attended when I was a teenager. These words spoke to the very depth of my soul and spirit. Enough for me to write them down and safely tuck it away in my bible. Now however, the word’s I had written down that day which were, Dear God, help me trust you in everything seems to be a figment of my imagination. I truly believe I had good intentions to follow through with them one day.

Yet, after reading them, I felt a stirring in my spirit. I knew I was no where near where I should be in trusting the Lord. I knew He was good and He has seen me through many a thing but trusting Him on a level I felt He wanted me to be was a whole different story. I knew after reading those words He wanted me to dig a little deeper, cultivate my heart, see there was indeed light at the end of the tunnel, water my soul and spirit, while growing in trusting Him and His ways so that one day I would bloom into the very being He had designed me to be.

Sounds good and easy, doesn’t it? I, however, had become complacent, and didn’t really want to rock the boat. Okay, not all. No rocking for me, thank you very much. For me, it was easier to just wake up, open the window, and tell the trials and tribulations who where anxiously waiting outside my door to come on in and have at it. I was honestly letting them have the lay of the land with no fight whatsoever. If they wanted to knock the wind from my sails, well then so be it. I bent to their will. I guarantee you, it was not a pretty picture.

Sure, I trusted God on a level that didn’t infringe on my believes of what I thought trusting was. I believed in God, knew His Son died on a cross for my sins, arose on the third day, and was not only a Savior but also a friend that would stick closer than a brother. I could quote bible versus. I read the bible on most day’s. Prayed when I started to see the storm arise but didn’t expect much to come from them. You know trust.

But in all honesty, I was doing Jesus and His sacrifices an injustice. I knew without being told, He wanted me to change my way of thinking. I was force to start looking at myself. Did I really truly trust Him in everything? In every season of my life? And the sad, hard truth was no, I did not, but a spark within me wanted to and knew if I did, something big and bright would be in my future.
I am learning to stand strong in putting my trust in Him. I am learning to honor Him in my words, deeds, and actions. I work really hard to look to Him first instead of the trials and tribulations. I am learning to shut the door of my heart, mind, mouth, body, and soul to their conning way’s. My trust meter is rising as I look to the Author and Finisher of my faith. My goal for this year is to trust my Father in everything no matter how big or small. Have I got the blueprint of trust down? Not by a long shot. There are things coming at me like never before. I am human. And there are times I just need a moment. A moment to work through my emotions and the heartache. But now, my eyes rarely leave His and I now know He understands the moments I need to take to rise above what is being thrown at me. The word’s failure and tired are slowly taking a back seat in the knowledge (at least I’m trying to know) of what He can bring me through. I try my very best to walk in the fact He’s got this and will never let me down.

A lifetime of struggle in the area of trusting? Maybe or maybe not. I don’t want there to be. I want to have so much trust and faith in God as Jesus did when He went forth from the garden of Gethsemane, to the whipping post, to the cross, and to the very last breath He took all those years ago. And with Easter season upon us, may this be the season, we look not so much to the events that took place, which should always be held in a place of awe and honor, but look to the one thing that seems to go under the radar: the amount of trust Jesus had to have in His Father, who has every situation the world would ever face in the palms of His hand along with the unmovable fact, that no matter what, Jesus knew His Father would not let Him and He would heard those word’s we all long to hear one day soon, well done.

Grateful And Aware

Love this. Be encouraged.

God Bless.

Grateful and Aware of God’s Love

by Joyce Meyer

Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!
- Psalm 106:1

God is always good to us, always faithful to us, always working so diligently in our lives. He is always doing something for us and acting in our best interest, so we need to respond by letting Him know we appreciate His abundant goodness.

For example, “Lord, thank You for a good night’s sleep,” or “God, I thank You that my visit to the dentist didn’t hurt as much as I thought it might,” or “Father, thank You for helping me make good decisions today,” or “Lord, thank You for keeping me encouraged.”

We can thank God silently in our hearts, and we can also voice our thankfulness aloud because that helps us stay conscious and aware of God’s love, which He demonstrates through His goodness to us.

Prayer of Thanks I thank You, Father, that You are always faithful to me. Even when I can’t see it, You are working on my behalf because You love me and You have a great plan for my life. Thank You for all the ways You demonstrate that love on a daily basis.

Living Amazed

I think this is a subject matter we have brushed under the rug.

Living in amazement of the One who created us must become the way of life.

God Bless.

Living Amazed

I think that many times we let what should be extremely special to us—things we should be extremely grateful for—become too commonplace. Several years ago, I was “prayer murmuring” to the Lord (praying but kind of murmuring at the same time), and I said, “Lord, why don’t I have those exciting, special things happen in my life like I used to when I first started to know You?”

I’ll never forget what the Lord spoke to my heart so clearly. He said, “Joyce, I still do the same things all the time, it’s just that you’ve gotten used to it.” Ouch!

I believe that if we’ll stay amazed at the things God is doing in our lives—even the little things—we’ll never be without hope. I encourage you to realize what you have, be thankful, and decide to live amazed…jaw-dropping, wide-eyed, “Wow! That was God!” amazed.

Prayer of Thanks: I am grateful that You are always doing special things in my life, Lord, and I pray that I will recognize them and be generous in my praise and gratitude. Help me to live amazed!

So You, Too

Food for thought and hopefully a little bit of encouragement as well.

God Bless.

"So you, too, must keep watch! For you don't know what day your Lord is coming." (NLT) -Matthew 24:42

If you knew Christ was returning within a year, how would that change your perspective in life? When we realize His return will bring pain for those who don't recognize Him, sharing our faith in Christ becomes more urgent. We want our friends and family to experience the joyful news that God heals our hurts and loves us with purity. No one knows the day or the hour of Christ's return, but no one also knows the minute of their last heartbeat. Take a moment tonight to pray for an opportune time to share your hope with a loved one who is on your heart.

He Keeps You

He Keeps You

We can't let fear lead our lives, NO MATTER WHAT!

Every area in our life must be covered. You give fear an inch, it will take over.

Send fear back to the pits of hell where it belongs and keep doing so until fear is just a memory.

God Bless.

The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. 8 The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. (NLT) -Psalm 121:7-8

Fear would like to tell us that God is surprised by the events of our lives. He has no control or ability to help you in this scary and uncertain world. God’s word promises something different, it promises that God will keep you. When we realize that God is with us no matter what we face we can live lives filled with peace rather than being stuck in our fear.
