God Bless.
Jesus Would Set the Captives Free
From the beginning, God’s plan was to rescue His people—not just from earthly oppression, but from the power of sin and death itself. The prophet Isaiah spoke of the One who would come to bring true freedom:
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.” (Isaiah 61:1, NLT)
Centuries later, Jesus stood in the synagogue, unrolled the scroll of Isaiah, and read these very words. Then, He declared, “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!” (Luke 4:21, NLT).
Jesus came to break every chain—chains of sin, fear, addiction, shame, and anything else that keeps us bound. Through His death and resurrection, He opened the door to true freedom. No longer are we slaves to sin; we are set free to walk in new life with Him.
Whatever has held you captive, Jesus has come to release you. Today, receive His freedom, knowing that in Him, you are no longer bound but redeemed, restored, and made new.
