Marked for Life In ancient times, a man in love would wear an armband scripted with his lover’s name to proclaim his love and also as a pendant that rested near his heart: ‘like a seal upon his heart and arm’. As I was reading this verse many years ago, God showed me that I am that seal upon His arm, and His heart. He chooses to proclaim His love for me like a proud lover! At that time, I was working overseas, living away from family and friends. I had not only moved away physically, but I had also moved away from God. I felt like I was too far gone. It was like I didn’t belong. That’s when God showed me that He’s marked me with a seal. I am His forever.

This revelation changed my life and my relationship with God. The thing about love is that it works both ways. His love drew me back into His arms, and I made a decision to place Him like a seal upon my heart and my arm. No matter where I go or what I do, I know one thing: I belong to Him and He belongs to me. I am marked for life! No matter how far you’ve drifted or how badly you’ve messed up, know that His love can reach you anywhere. It is stronger than your sin, your failure and your pain. When you receive Jesus into your heart, there is no more condemnation for you (Romans 8:1).

Declaration I am marked for life by the One who gave His life for me. I belong to Jesus and He belongs to me.
