In Christ

Some food for thought.

God Bless.

"For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. (NLT)" -2 Corinthians 5:19

"God is a stranger to sin and it's something He cannot be around. Jesus lived and died to bring us back to God by taking responsibility for our sin. Our sins are no longer counted against us and we can be in relationship with God! This is a beautiful message of grace, mercy, and forgiveness. When we understand the importance of this message, it's natural to encourage others to embrace the harmony they can have with God. Have you found your personal way of sharing this message with others?"

White Flowers

Wisdom.

God Bless.

Be Confident in Who God Made You
Joyce Meyer –
1 min read

White flowers sitting on an open Bible ready for reading a daily devotional.
Adapted from Starting Your Day Right

My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately and curiously wrought [as if embroidered with various colors] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery].

 Psalm 139:15 (AMPC)
Have you ever asked God, “Why did You make me this way?” Sometimes the things that we think are our worst faults, God will use to His greatest glory: But who are you, a mere man, to criticize and contradict and answer back to God? Will what is formed say to him that formed it, Why have you made me thus? (Romans 9:20 AMPC).

Jesus died so that we might enjoy our life in abundance and to the fullest until it overflows. You are not going to enjoy your life if you don’t enjoy yourself. Be satisfied with yourself and celebrate the unique way God made you.

Prayer of the Day: Lord, help me accept and appreciate how You created me. Teach me to trust Your purpose for my life and to celebrate who I am in You, amen.

No Shortcuts

I found so much interesting things to think about in this little devotional and wanted to share.

God Bless.

Today's Quotation:

No shortcut to wisdom. No tollways to be wise.

Toba Beta

Today's Meditation:

Wisdom does not necessarily come with age, nor does it come from having a whole world of information at our fingertips; wisdom cannot be bought, nor can it be willed upon another. Wisdom can only be gained through our own discovery--through trial, error, and our eventual understanding.

Neither is wisdom complex, rather it is breathtaking in its simplicity. It is not having the answers for everything--for it is often wiser to allow others to find their own answers and merely be a fellow traveller and guide. To be wise, we cannot take any shortcuts--we have to travel the paths before us, as these are the paths where wisdom will be found. We cannot just know things--we have to understand them and the principles behind them. Furthermore, once we reach a deeper understanding of the things we are able to, we must then share that understanding with others, or else the wisdom gained will be for naught.

Do not seek "shortcuts to wisdom." Instead, seek wisdom in the experiences you face each day of your life. And do not feel you are wise because you know more than someone else--quantity is not equivalent to quality. Instead, seek a greater understanding of the things you do know, and then share them with others in your life.

Today's Challenge: Take a moment to gain some deeper understanding of a recent experience in your life.

Questions to consider:

In what ways are you truly wise?

How can you grow to be even wiser?

In which ways are you most effective in sharing your wisdom?

For further thought:

When you are able to know the right thing, you are intelligent. But when you choose that right thing to do, you are wise. This means people can get money, education, marriage, and good health and not get wisdom. Wisdom is the number one gift for a Godly success.

Trusting Jesus

Love this!

God Bless.

Trusting Jesus Over Our Own Efforts
Scripture:

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Example:

When a problem at home or work feels out of control, instead of trying to fix it all yourself, pray and hand it over to God, trusting in Proverbs 3:5-6. Let God direct your path rather than relying solely on your own understanding.

Reflection:

Trusting God requires surrender—letting go of our need to control outcomes. When we lean on our own efforts, we often feel exhausted and frustrated. But when we trust in God's wisdom, He leads us in the right direction.

Where in your life do you need to stop relying on yourself and start trusting Jesus?

Laying Down Distractions

Another good one!

God Bless.

Laying Down Distractions
Scripture:

Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Example:

If you find yourself constantly checking your phone or distracted by social media, choose to put it aside for a while. Use that time to read a verse or quietly reflect on God’s love. Like Mary, choose to be fully present with Jesus.

Reflection:

Distractions can keep us from focusing on what truly matters in our relationship with God.

What are the distractions in your life that hinder your time with Jesus?

Today, ask Him to help you let go of those distractions so that you can fully experience His presence.

What practical steps can you take to limit distractions and prioritize Jesus?

God Works For You

I found this little devotional interesting and I wanted to share it.

God Bless.

Solid Joys

God Works for You

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.

Psalm 121:1–3
Do you need help? I do. Where do you look for help?

When the psalmist lifted up his eyes to the hills and asked, “From where does my help come?” he answered, “My help comes from the Lord” — not from the hills, but from the God who made the hills. “My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

So, he reminded himself of two great truths: One is that God is a mighty Creator over all the problems of life; the other is that God never sleeps. “He who keeps you will not slumber.”

God is a tireless worker. He never wearies. Think of God as a worker in your life. Yes, it is amazing. We are prone to think of ourselves as workers in God’s life. But the Bible wants us first to be amazed that God is a worker in our lives: “From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who works for those who wait for him” (Isaiah 64:4).

God is working for us around the clock. He does not take days off and he does not sleep. In fact he is so eager to work for us that he goes around looking for more work to do for people who will trust him: “The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).

God loves to show his tireless power and wisdom and goodness by working for people who trust him. The sending of his Son, Jesus, was the main way the Father showed this: “The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve” (Mark 10:45). Jesus works for his followers. He serves them. The gospel is not a “help wanted” sign. It is a “help available” sign.

This is what we must believe — really believe — in order to “rejoice always” (1 Thessalonians 5:16) and “[give] thanks always and for everything” (Ephesians 5:20) and have “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7), and “not be anxious about anything” (Philippians 4:6), and hate our lives “in this world” (John 12:25), and “love [our] neighbor as [ourselves]” (Matthew 22:39).

What a truth! What a reality! God is up all night and all day to work for those who wait for him.

Choosing Rest

Love, love this.

God Bless.

Choosing Rest Over Worry
Scripture:

Matthew 6:31-33

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Example:

When finances or future plans make you anxious, instead of spiraling into worry, practice what Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:31-33. Trust that God will provide what you need, and spend time thanking Him for His faithfulness.

Reflection:

Worry is often a sign that we are trying to carry burdens on our own. Jesus invites us to seek Him first, trusting that He knows our needs and will provide. Today, instead of letting worry take over, focus on seeking Jesus and resting in His care.

How can you surrender your anxieties to Him and trust Him with your future?

Busyness

Leaving this right here.

God Bless.

Busyness vs. Being
Scripture:

Psalm 46:10

He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’

Example:

When your to-do list feels never-ending, pause, breathe, and reflect on Psalm 46:10—"Be still and know that I am God." Instead of rushing through the day, take a quiet moment in prayer or meditation, focusing on God’s presence.

Reflection:

In a world that constantly demands action, it can be difficult to pause and simply "be." Yet, it is in stillness that we can truly connect with God, hear His voice, and gain clarity.

Today, take a few moments to slow down, release the pressure to always be productive, and remember that God is with you. His presence brings peace, even in the midst of a busy day.

Where can you make room for stillness today, trusting that God is in control?

I must Not Fear

I needed this and wanted to share the wealth.

God Bless

Today's Quotation:

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Frank Herbert, Dune

Today's Meditation:

As Frank says, "I must not fear." I should choose to face my fears, to experience them and then pass them by... but I must not allow fear to exist as a determining factor within my mind. If I am able to do so, my fear will no longer exist, its purpose expired, it will fade away, and "only I will remain."

Control in our life is ours. Sure, I can choose to live my life in a way that allows fear to rule me--I can pass over opportunities that lie before me; I can harken down the worn paths avoiding any unexpected journeys; I can even choose to spend my life accumulating material things for myself. But the question I must then ask myself is this: "Will I be happy with the way my life is going to turn out if I continue to live it this way?"

Peace and happiness come to us from a life lived beyond the fears that keep us locked on an island by ourselves. We find them through the journeys we experience, in the bonds of humanity that we build and embrace with compassion and love, and in the deepness of value and worth we come to find in our lives.

Fear really is a "little-death" that ceaselessly feeds us from the stagnant waters of misery and frustration. It wants to control us; and if we let it, it will leave us isolated and alone. Yet if we face our fears each day, little by little our mind will become clearer. And at the end, the fear will be gone... and only we will remain.

Today's Challenge: Fearlessly engage yourself in the life around you today.

Questions to consider:

Can you think of ways in which fear has determined your actions in certain situations?

How do things turn out when you obey your fear instead of your conscience?

By overcoming our fears, where have they gone? Where are we?

For further thought:

There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.

Paulo Coelho

The Better Part

Food for thought.

God Bless.

The Better Part
Scripture:

Luke 10:38-42

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Example:

When you feel overwhelmed with tasks at work, like Martha, take a moment to pray and ask Jesus for guidance. Just as Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet, remind yourself to prioritize time with Him, even in the middle of a busy day.

Reflection:

It's easy to be consumed by what needs to be done, but Jesus calls us to something greater—time with Him. Like Mary, choose the better part by intentionally pausing to focus on Jesus. In His presence, you will find rest and clarity.

Are you prioritizing time with Jesus in your day?

How can you set aside time to be at His feet today?

If A Man Say

This...

Something to think about.

God Bless.

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

Inspiration

Holding hate in your heart for ANYONE and claiming that you love God is impossible. We are taught to love our neighbors, our enemies, God, and last but not least, ourselves. How can we love ourselves and hold hate towards another person? Jesus lived his life and showed us how to live ours. Through words, thoughts, and actions, we must pursue a life of love, not hate.

Prayer

I love you, my God. I want to know this at every moment, spreading Your love through my own words and actions. Forgive me for holding hate in my heart for others, and help me amend the hateful words and actions that I have said and done. I ask that You help me love all around me and myself, in a way that You find holy. Amen.

Whereby

This....

God Bless.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Inspiration

Promises have been made and kept to us. We were given the gift of potential everlasting life. All we must do is to avoid the temptations of Satan, the sins of this finite world. It sounds so simple when the reward is eternal life, but as we all know, it is much easier said than done.

Prayer

I vow to always worship You, O Lord, and rejoice in Your name. Forgive me for my many transgressions for I have sinned. I pray that You help deliver me from this evil, hardening my heart to the evils of this world. Through Your glory, I know that all things are possible, gracious Lord, my rock and strength. Amen.

Not Punishment

Not Punishment

I will guide your efforts. You are not being punished for past sins. Take My Words, revealed to you each day from the beginning, and do in all things as I say. I have been showing you the way. You have not obeyed Me in this.

I have a plan that can only in this way be revealed. So rarely do I find two souls in union who want only My Will, and only to serve Me. The union is miracle-working.

I have told you that I am longing to use you. Long ago My world would have been brought to Me, had I been served by many such two souls. It was always “two and two.”

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12
