A Good Parent

Thought provoking little devotional. Stay encouraged.

God Bless.

A good parent celebrates every amount of progress their daughter makes. They take pictures of her first tooth, her first step, her first day at school, her first date, her first day of college. They are always celebrating her life and progress. God is no different. He is a good Father, and He is always celebrating you. He rejoices over you with gladness, He quiets you with His love, and rejoices over you with singing (see Zephaniah 3:17).

Think about that for a moment. Almighty God, the creator of heaven and earth, is telling the angels in heaven, “Look at My daughter! Have you noticed how much she has grown? Look at her moving forward despite everything she’s experienced. Look at her digging into My word to find out what I think about her. Look at My baby girl growing and learning how to trust Me.”

Pause for a moment and think about how far God has brought you. Think about how strong He has made you. See how your faith has grown in this year alone. You have come a long way, my sister, and if I could give you a fist bump, I would. You may not be where you want to be, but thank God you are not where you used to be. Praise God, you are not the woman you used to be.

Challenge: If God rejoices over you and celebrates you, what can you do right now to celebrate your progress?

Prayer: Father, I thank you for speaking to my heart. I receive your love. Thank you that I’m not the same person I used to be. Thank you for the progress you’re helping me to make each day. Help me learn how to celebrate and rejoice over my progress the way you rejoice over me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Do You Measure

I found this little devotional a good way of thinking before opening my mouth.

May you find encouragement in the word's written below.

God Bless.

Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. (NLT) -Proverbs 13:3

Do you measure your words carefully? Do you filter and refine them before throwing them out for all to hear? Much can be communicated between words such as attitudes, values, and perceptions.

Even as simple as changing a word can mean all the difference between offending someone or finessing a situation. It's easy to launch words for all to hear, but impossible to take them back. Yes, opening your mouth can ruin everything.

The Lord Detests

Truth! And it will set you free.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth. (NLT) -Proverbs 12:22

Lying is one way we build sin traps in our lives. Even a small step away from the truth can start a domino effect that pushes us further and further away from the truth as we strive to cover our lies. Soon enough you are surrounded by a whole web of lies! Avoid that first lie. Make truth telling a value in your life.

The Disciples

Amen! I found this little devotional to be really encouraging. It's my prayer you may find some as well in the word's written below.

God Bless.

The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!” (NLT) -Mark 4:41

Can you imagine being in the middle of a life-threatening storm while your leader is fast asleep! He wakes up and just calmly in all the commotion tells the wild waters to ‘be still’ and just like that the wind and waves subside. I think if I was there I would be freaking out! This is the God we serve. He is the author of all Creation. Next time you face a terrifying storm, remember to run to Jesus. He will see you through!

By The Grace

Thought provoking little devotional and it's my prayer you will find something in the word's written below to keep up the good fight of faith.

God Bless.

“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10

My sister, you are not your past. You are not your mistakes. You are not your state. You are a daughter of the King. Be reminded today of who you are.

Declare by faith:

“I am smart. I am important. I am a world changer. I am brave and courageous. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am beautiful. I am called by God to do great things. I am strong. I melt in His presence, yet stand strong in the face of adversity. I can’t stop running because Jesus didn’t stop for me. I am a finisher. I am the right woman for the job. I am a winner. I am so loved. I am richly blessed. I am rooted and grounded. I am abundantly graced. I am my brother and sister’s keeper. I am empowered to lead. I am an overcomer. I am more than a conqueror. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. I am a daughter of the King no matter how I feel and no matter how it looks I will see God’s promises manifested in my life. I am patient and kind. I am truthful. I am hidden in Christ. I am an end time soldier in His army. I was born for such a time as this. I have what it takes. I am resourceful. I am wise. I wear God’s grace beautifully. I am who God says I am, I have what He says I have, and I will do what He says I will do.”

Prayer: Father, help me stay reminded of who I am in you. Help me not to let my past or my current state define me. You define me, Lord. You are my God and I belong to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Lord Remembers

Intriguing little devotional written below.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

“The LORD remembers us and will bless us. He will bless the people of Israel and bless the priests, the descendants of Aaron” Psalms 115:12, NLT.

“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name” Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬, NKJV‬‬.

“You’ve been waiting, and you’ve been serving others. Because you know I am good, you’re trying not to be discouraged. Because you know My character, you’re trying not to feel forgotten. I know you, My daughter. I see you, and I see your works. You have a little strength and a little joy. You are trying to hold on to My promises because you know I am faithful. Here’s My promise to you, I remember you. You don’t know how or when but know that I remember you. Let these words fill you with joy and give you strength. I am good, and I am faithful, and I remember you. I love you with an everlasting love. I remember you. I am your God, and I cannot lie. I will cause you to reap where you have not sown. I will bless you and make you a blessing. I will cause you to shine as bright as the noonday. I remember you and I will bless you.”

Don't Get Sidetracked

Truth bomb left from the word's written below. I found it very encouraging.

God Bless.

Don't get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil. (NLT) -Proverbs 4:27

There are a lot of things that are competing for our attention. Each one of us has a mission on earth and we are to care for one another. Be vigilant to not allow distractions to get you off course. When we wander off course it is even more tempting to take up activities and habits that are dishonoring to God. Don't get sidetracked from your calling.

Quote Of The Day - I Have

Don't read the words written below unless you want to be encouraged and have a truth bomb explode in your life.

But if you do, well then, by all means keep reading.

God Bless.

Quote of the Day -Joyce Meyer

“I have a reverential fear of God in my life, and I think we need a lot more of that. I believe that God is God, and I believe He means business. If He tells me to do something, He means it, and when He tells me not to do something, He means it.”

Through

Intriguing little devotional written below. Be encouraged.

God Bless.

Scripture Reading — Habakkuk 3:17-19
Though . . . the fields produce no food . . . yet I will rejoice in the Lord . . . in God my Savior.
— Habakkuk 3:17-18

After watching the daily news, our media listener Natasha shot us a note: “How can I find peace and joy in the midst of what’s going on today?”

Perhaps you find yourself asking the same question as you follow the news or receive a worrisome personal update. How do you respond to bad news and reports of trouble and struggle in so many places? What happens to your walk with the Lord?

Today we turn to one of the most powerful affirmations of faith in all of Scripture. Faced with news of an upcoming war, the prophet Habakkuk anticipates food shortages and hunger throughout the land. But in the face of such calamity, he declares that he will still rejoice in God his Savior. External circumstances are not going to stop him from finding personal peace and joy in the Lord.

As Christians, we can rejoice in the midst of the most challenging circumstances because of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Even in the toughest of times—such as having to look death in the face—we know that nothing “will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39).

In the midst of bad news and hard times, never forget that God loves us, no matter what. By his Spirit he comforts us. He is always in full control of our lives. That joyful reality gives us peace even in the most difficult of times.

Lord, thank you for being with us always! Give us strength to rejoice in you, no matter what troubles we face. Amen.

Be On Guard

Truthful little devotional mixed with wisdom.

God Bless.

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. (NLT) -1 Corinthians 16:13

As we anxiously await Christ's return we must be courageously strong. A firm, steady strength is needed to overcome obstacles. This strength is rooted in faith in God. The strength of God has the power to battle any fear. Stay strong in your faith when all else seems to fade.

Who Was Delivered

Encouragement warning written in the word's below.

God Bless.

Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Inspiration

Christ Jesus was given up to suffering and death on a cruel Roman cross, by God the Father, in order that he might purge away our sins. He who had not offended at all, died for the offenses of sinners, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. And this Christ who so loved us enough to die did not remain in the grave, but He rose victoriously that he might raise us also to spiritual life and justify us through faith.

Prayer

We know, Lord, that we all offend in many points, but that your dear Son offended in none. In your wisdom, O Lord, you knew there was no other way but the cross that a people for your praise could be redeemed. We thank you for your great love to us, and we know that you who gave up your own Son for us and raised him up from the dead will also raise up us on the Day of Christ. Amen.

What Does True Rest Look Like

Food for thought.

God Bless.

What does true rest look like?

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

MATTHEW 11:28

In a world burdened by busyness, Jesus invites us into something greater—rest. But what does real rest look like?

Here are 3 ways you can create space to rest.

TALK TO GOD
Throughout His ministry, Jesus often withdrew to rest and connect with God.

Whether you’re driving, going on a walk, or spending time with the people in your life, pause and talk to God throughout your day.

BE INTENTIONAL
Prioritizing rest doesn’t happen by accident.

Try scheduling time to be still each day on your calendar, and then communicate those times to your family and friends.

This will help you stay accountable when the world tries to pull you into work and activity.

PRACTICE SABBATH REST
From the beginning, God modeled rest, and He invites us to make it part of our weekly rhythm.

This idea of intentionally setting aside a day to be with God and enjoy His presence is called Sabbath. It’s a way to remember that God loves us not because of what we do, but because of who He is.

When was the last time you really rested in God’s presence?
