Most people at the beginning of the New Year receives a scripture from the Lord that they cling to throughout the year. For me, God usually gives me a song and this next year is no exception. When I first heard this song for the first time, I knew instantly this was my song and He was telling me it was time to get my focus off the bad and difficult period in my life and start focusing on the good.
I have always believed He was good but after listening to this song, I wasn’t so sure I truly believed it. I began to really look for all the way’s He tries to show me His goodness and I found them in the little things. Once I did a deep dive, my eyes were open and my ears burned with the sound of His voice.
I see His goodness in my beautiful grandson who was just recently born. He’s perfect. His smile lights up the room and the way he holds onto your finger signaling his trust he has in you is nothing short of God’s goodness.
God’s goodness can be found in the way He has kept my son in all the unconventional way’s as he is learning to navigate adulthood and fatherhood while chasing his dreams is nothing short of amazing.
The way he has brought freedom to my husband through the lost of his mother and how now smiles again is a miracle. My husband is becoming a changed man right in front of my eyes.
I am in awe how God is healing relationships I never thought would stand a chance of getting healed because of the wounds that ran deep all through laughter and our willingness to meet Him halfway.
Yes, we have seen some tough times and experienced more than I would have liked and yes, there are battles still raging all around us but I see now the goodness of God is our light at the end of our storms. I am more determined to cling to His goodness from now on. I have this song on repeat to remind to sing of His goodness. Rest assured I have a deep understanding and appreciate of His faithfulness. My mind is unmovable to the knowledge His mercy is new every morning and every breath I take is the favor He has placed on my life.
All my life I knew about these things, however, I just needed to get to the point in my life that I believed it without hesitation and I believe I’m there.
I am thankful for the words in this song. They are indeed my love song to Him. This song is a song, I didn’t know I needed. This song gives me the hope I’ve been looking for. I am stronger now and I am on the other side of many battles and I now know it’s all thanks to His goodness.
May 2023 be the year His goodness overtakes every mind, body, and soul. He’s waiting to overflow us with more goodness than we can handle, all we have to do, is keep fighting the good fight of faith with eyes to see and ears to hear.
Keep in mind, no matter what we may go through, we are victorious and stronger than we think, and His goodness is a reward we can not afford to take full advantage of.
