Healing For The Brokenhearted

Some encouragement.

God Bless.

Healing for the Brokenhearted
Joyce Meyer – Mar 28, 2024
3 min read

An open Bible ready for reading a daily devotional, sitting in a bed of flowers.
Adapted from Healing the Soul of a Woman

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds….

 Psalm 147:3 (AMPC)
Those who are brokenhearted are broken in their personality. They are unable to function properly because of their wounds. They have been deeply hurt and are unable to move beyond their past pain.

It is important that we don’t merely park at the point of our pain and remain there for the rest of our lives. God is the author of new beginnings, and whether we are wounded due our own sin, or because of the sin of others who have harmed us, we are the only ones who can decide whether to move on or stay parked. Take your life out of park and start moving forward toward the great future God has arranged for you.

The apostle Paul is a great example of someone who kept shaking off the past and pressing forward. He moved past his own sin, past the persecution he received from others as his reward for simply trying to help them, past unfair imprisonment, beatings, abandonment, and many other painful things. He also moved past his own imperfections in his daily walk with God and said that letting go of what was behind was his determined purpose in life.

When we are hurting, moving forward isn’t always easy because our mind and emotions are telling us to just give up. Although change isn’t easy and is often painful, we have only two choices—to endure the pain of change or to endure the pain of never changing. It is easy to see which choice makes the most sense. If there will be pain either way, why not choose the pain of progress?

To keep going forward in the midst of personal pain takes a lot of courage. You may not even want to get out of bed in the morning, let alone be active and do what life requires that day, but if you live by wise choices rather than by your feelings, you can do it.

I vividly remember my father repeatedly telling me, “You will never amount to anything,” but with God’s help, I overcame his negative words. If those who should have affirmed you tore you down with their words, you too can overcome their words by seeing what God says about you and meditating on His words instead. God says many wonderful things about you, things such as: You are fearfully and wonderfully made (see Psalm 139:14). You are loved unconditionally (see Jeremiah 31:3) and accepted (see John 6:37). You are precious and honored in His sight (Isaiah 43:4). His Word includes many similar truths that will build you up and renew your mind so you can think about yourself and your life the way God wants you to. Don’t settle for less than the best life that God wants to give you. Perhaps you are facing a time of testing in your life right now, and the temptation to quit and give up is strong. Know this: You have what it takes to go through it and experience victory on the other side.

It’s not too late! I’m sure the devil has told you the lie that it is too late for you. However, it is never too late for God to heal and restore anyone who truly wants Him to.

Prayer of the Day: Lord, thank You for healing my broken heart and making me whole.

The Joy Of His Presence

His presence is a gift and a must to make it in this world. Be encouraged.

God Bless.

The Joy Of His Presence
Today : The Joy Of His Presence

TODAY’S VERSE
“You have given him the joy of being in your presence.” Psalms 21:6 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
What a gift. God has actually put the capacity to experience His presence in us. Like an antenna picks up the signal sent to it, God has put His Holy Spirit within us, enabling us to experience Him. But an antenna is of no value, if there isn’t a signal. You see, this passage is more about God than us. It is God that sends His presence out to us. It is God that desires our fellowship. It is His grace that causes Him to seek us out. Does that grab you? Let me say it again. The God of the universe not only allows us an audience with Him, He comes to us and seeks us out! And even more, when we respond, we will receive what David did. God will give us the joy of being in His presence.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for seeking me out. Thank You for inviting me to experience Your presence. I pray for more Father. I pray that I may experience the deep joy that you offer from being in Your presence.
AMEN

TODAY’S VISUALIZATION & MEDITATION
I experience the joy of being in God’s presence
Quiet your mind. Visualize yourself in a peaceful place and let yourself relax. Let go of chatter in your mind and ask God to help you experience His presence. Sit patiently meditating on His great love. Invite God to come and reveal His love to your heart. Think of His peace. Let His presence fill your heart with peace. As you meditate on Him, let His presence fill you with joy.

What It Means To Pray For Your Enemies

This right here. So much to unpack. Be encouraged.

God Bless.

“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44)

Prayer for your enemies is one of the deepest forms of love, because it means that you have to really want that something good happen to them.

You might do nice things for your enemies without any genuine desire that things go well with them. But prayer for them is in the presence of God who knows your heart, and prayer is interceding with God on their behalf.

It may be for their conversion. It may be for their repentance. It may be that they would be awakened to the enmity in their hearts. It may be that they will be stopped in their downward spiral of sin, even if it takes disease or calamity to do it. But the prayer Jesus has in mind here is always for their good.

This is what Jesus did as he hung on the cross:

Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34)

And it’s what Stephen did as he was being stoned:

Falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” (Acts 7:60)

Jesus is calling us not just to do good things for our enemy, like greeting them and helping supply their needs (Matthew 5:47); he is also calling us to desire their best, and to express those desires in prayers, even when the enemy is nowhere around.

Our hearts should desire their salvation and desire their presence in heaven with us and desire their eternal happiness. May God give us grace to pray like the apostle Paul for the Jewish people, many of whom made life very hard for Paul:

My heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. (Romans 10:1)

Even The Wind

Some encouragement written in the word's below

God Bless.

Even the Wind

The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!” (NLT) -Mark 4:41

Can you imagine being in the middle of a life-threatening storm while your leader is fast asleep! He wakes up and just calmly in all the commotion tells the wild waters to ‘be still’ and just like that the wind and waves subside. I think if I was there I would be freaking out! This is the God we serve. He is the author of all Creation. Next time you face a terrifying storm, remember to run to Jesus. He will see you through!

Trust Is A Hard Thing

The title says it all. Something to work hard at but in most case worth it.

God Bless.

Trust is a hard thing to come by in the world. When you are surrounded by people who only have their best interests at heart, it can be very hard to find someone you can confide in. The thought of giving a person a glance into your heart and your mind can be daunting.

People are capable of convincing you that you can trust them, but the moment you have finished confiding in them, they are already thinking of the way they're going to tell someone else about everything that you've just shared with them. People are capable of smiling in your face and talking behind your back at the same time. Such things leave very little to be desired when it comes to trying to trust people and letting them into your lives.

Fortunately, with God we don't have such worries. We know that God has our lives in our hands and this gives us peace. It does not scare us and it definitely does not give us any reason to worry. God truly is the only one who has your best interests at heart. Everything He guides you in is for your benefit. This is why he constantly urges us to follow the guiding of His Spirit.

He isn't trying to control us. He is trying to prevent us from experiencing anything detrimental to our health and our livelihood as his children.

Think of an interaction between a child and their mother. A child may walk into the kitchen and tell their mom that they are ready to drive a car. The mother will look at her eight year old child and tell them that they are not ready to drive. The child might become upset and think that their mother is trying to stifle their dreams. But the mother is actually protecting them. If the child tries to drive at their young age, they will end up injuring or even killing themselves.

Who Is He

Food for that mixed with a little but of encouragement.

God Bless.

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Inspiration

Overcoming the world sounds like an impossible feat. How do we defeat the forces of greed, strife, and pride that define the ways of the world? Only through Jesus, who leads us in a life of humble sacrifice. In Jesus, we find the peace of a secure eternity, no matter what we face in this world, freeing us to pursue His kingdom instead of worldly gains.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for calling me to be a child of Your kingdom. You’ve called me to resist the ways of the world as I live for You, but I cannot do it alone. Thank You for sending Jesus to live that I may have an example to follow. And thank You for His death and resurrection, by which I receive the power to follow You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The Pain Of Betrayal

This...

God Bless.

The Pain of Betrayal

Jesus said to him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?" - Luke 22:48, NKJV

Judas was one of Jesus’ very closest friends. He had been handpicked to be a disciple. He had been given the special responsibility of being treasurer for the entire band of disciples – a responsibility he had enjoyed as it gave him access to personal petty cash as well as prestige in the eyes of others. Yet it was this disciple who betrayed his Lord and Friend with a kiss! And although Jesus clearly knew the betrayal was coming, it was still a knifelike stab to His heart.

Have you ever been betrayed . . .

by a spouse who has taken a secret lover?

by a sibling who has stolen your inheritance?

by a coworker who has taken the credit for a job you did?

If you have experienced betrayal, then you understand something of the stabbing pain Judas inflicted at the very outset of Jesus’ uphill struggle to the Cross and would resolve never to betray another.

Guarding Your Mind

Some food for thought

God Bless

Guarding Your Mind

Our minds control everything. They influence our thoughts that affect our feelings, and our feelings affect our actions. It all starts in the mind. You are not responsible for every little stray thought that flits or passes through your mind from conversations you overhear by accident or things that you see by accident. What you are responsible for are the thoughts you choose to hold on to and go over and over in your mind. This is an area of irresponsibility even for many long-time Christians. I know a lot of people who are true believers in Christ, but they're watching trashy TV, listening to trash radio, and reading trashy magazines and novels. Whatever you put into your mind is inevitably going to come out in your behavior and your beliefs. It weakens you and it weakens your values because you've become accustomed to it. When things don't bother you any more that is a warning light that you've already passed the threshold. One of the ways Satan tries to get sin and deviant behavior acceptable is to get you to laugh at it. Once you've laughed, your barriers have lowered. If Satan can get you laughing at something that is wrong or sinful, you've already lost the battle. Sin is not funny. It put Jesus on the cross.

Don't Be Afraid

What the world needs now is encouragement and I believe you can find some in the word's below.

God Bless.

Don’t Be Afraid

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (NLT) -Deuteronomy 31:6

Our world is filled with fear, anxiety, and terror. Our news feeds are full of reasons to panic but thankfully when we are a part of God’s family we can grasp and take hold of a miraculous sense of peace. God tells us that he will never leave us or forsake us…no matter what situation we face. We can live with peace because we serve a God that is present and who tells us through his Word that he wins in the end!

Gratitude

This....

God Bless.

Gratitude: A Heart of Thankfulness

 1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

— 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Gratitude is a transformative attitude. It helps us to shift from looking at what we don’t have to seeing the abundance of blessings around us. In our gratitude we choose to recognize and appreciate the goodness and faithfulness of God in every aspect of our lives. Gratitude opens our eyes to the wonders of creation, the kindness of others, and the countless gifts bestowed on us by our heavenly Father.

Gratitude is not limited to favorable circumstances; it prompts us to give thanks in all circumstances. Even in the midst of trials and challenges, we can find reasons to be thankful. We can express gratitude for God’s presence, for his comfort, and for lessons learned through difficult experiences.

Our gratitude flows from realizing we are saved from sin and death through the loving sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We are recipients of unmerited grace, forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life.

Today let’s cultivate a heart of gratitude. May we pause to count our blessings, expressing gratitude to God and to the people around us. In every season let’s remember that gratitude is not just a momentary feeling but a way of life. As we live with hearts full of gratitude, we will experience joy, contentment, and a deep relationship with our loving Father.

Dear Lord, we thank you for countless daily blessings. Help us to see your goodness in all aspects of life and to give thanks in all circumstances. May our lives overflow with gratitude to you. Amen.

A Leader

Is He your leader? Food for thought.

God Bless

NAME OF GOD DEVOTIONAL

Name of God Devotional

BY CHRISTIAN CHANNEL

Bible Name of God : A LEADER

A LEADER

Isai 55:4 Behold, I have given him [for] a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

The Leadership of Christ is unexelled. He is the “Captian of our Salvation” and He has given to us the high and holy privilege of following Him and fighting under His bannner (Peace)! David was a loyal leader and faithful to his followers, but Jesus Christ is “great David’s greater Son” and He leads on to certain victory, through green pastures, beside the still waters, to the summit of the mountain, through the valleys, to the Rock that is higher than we could ever ascend in our own strength. He loves to hold us by the hand and lead us on to joy and peace. Shall we not say “Where He leads, we will follow?”

Blessed Lord, our Leader, have Thine own way with us and lead us today. Amen.

Praying Before

This needs to go down deep within our hearts and souls.

God Bless.

Quote of the Day -Joyce Meyer

“Praying before you have an emergency is like putting money in the bank. If you have money set aside, then a car problem you were not expecting does not need to upset you. You have provided a way to continue living a simple, joy-filled life before you experienced a need. Start today getting some prayers in reserve. Fill up your prayer tank and you will avoid constantly living in crisis mode.”

Have You Been Hurt

Leaving it right here.

God Bless.

Have You Been Hurt

It is unlikely that any one of us has made it through life without being hurt by someone, but we only continue letting what they have done hurt us if we don’t forgive them.

Ask yourself if you are angry with anyone for anything, and if you are, ask God to help you forgive, forget, and let it go. God is our Vindicator, and if we will allow Him to, He will repay us for every injustice that has been done to us. In my life, I have learned that anger is something we should never carry around with us. God’s Word says that we should not let the sun set on our anger, and if we do, then we give the devil a foothold in our lives (see Ephesians 4:26–27).

Do yourself a favor right now and refuse to remain angry or bitter. God has good things planned for us, and we don’t want to miss them by refusing to let go of things in the past. Start fresh with a peaceful heart and be determined to enjoy each day.

PRAYER:
Father, help me forgive everyone who has hurt me in the past year, and if I have hurt anyone, please help them forgive me.

Who Control

These tongues of ours!

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

Who Control

Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. (NLT) -Proverbs 13:3

Do you measure your words carefully? Do you filter and refine them before throwing them out for all to hear? Much can be communicated between words such as attitudes, values, and perceptions. Even as simple as changing a word can mean all the difference between offending someone or finessing a situation. It's easy to launch words for all to hear, but impossible to take them back. Yes, opening your mouth can ruin everything.

Jesus

Our everyday prayer and heart.

God Bless.

Jesus,

I grieve that the torture and sorrow You endured on the cross were necessary to save humanity.

Because You didn’t want me enslaved to fear, anxiety, or sin—You sacrificed Yourself so that Love could win.

It’s Love that hung upon the cross and gave up everything to rescue me. “It is finished” was a cry of victory, because You defeated everything that held me in captivity.

Because of Your sacrifice, I can experience intimacy with You forever. Thank You! Help me to know You more, and to reach people with the hope found in You.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.
