God's Word

It's so important we know and understand the meaning and power behind God's word.

I have in no way got a taste of all it the promises, the meaning, and everything in between this book contains.

However, I get up everyday with a desire to mark it up, find the answers I need, and to read a continuous love letter that never gets old.

It contains wisdom, the future, the past, and the meaning of life. So together, let's dust it off and make a pack that we will never just make it another book that belongs on a book shelve.

The word of God is indeed a book for the ages.

God's Word

The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart

- Hebrews 4:12

Notice first that the Word of God is quick, or alive. It always is (present tense) alive. God's Word will always be true; it is alive forever. And therefore God's Word is always relevant, never just a dead carcass, a used up and empty vessel from the past. It is the living, breathing truth of God. And, as Psalm 100:5 extols, "His truth endures to all generations."

The Word of God is also powerful. It is, in other words, energetic. It is not only living, but energetically efficacious. God's Word, Paul tells us, "is the power of God unto salvation" to every one that believes (Romans 1:16). Have you ever felt the moving, slicing, energetic operation of God's Word on your heart as you read, or listened to, or meditated on its truth? If so, then you know the dynamic power of God's Word to reach and melt and prick the heart.

But it is here compared to a sword -- and elsewhere called a sword (Ephesians 6:17). Why do we need a sword? Because we are in a war. We daily battle, whether courageously or pathetically, the ever-present foes of sin, self, and Satan. We need the spiritual power of God's Word to strengthen us and fight for us against these foes.

Finally, God's Word is called a discerner. The truth of God's Word sifts through and analyzes the myriad of ideas, aspirations, and desires with which we are enticed and, as a qualified and a skilled judge, discerns truth from error, good from bad. It is a wise weapon!

Do you feel the need today for the energetic, discerning work of God's Word upon your heart, directing your ways? The question is asked in Jeremiah 17:9, of the deceptive human heart, "who can know it?" The answer from Hebrews is: "the Word of God can."

Love Him For Who He Is

This devotional has a world worth of truth in it. If we treated people like we treat Jesus, this world would be in more trouble than it all ready is.

I love gifts but I also love to give them and what better thing can I give you than Jesus!

And with this little devotional, I give you a glimpse of why He's so important, who He is, and hopefully a hunger to find out about what He's done.

Love Him for Who He Is

September 8

As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.- Isaiah 62:5, NKJV

God loves for us to come to Him and ask Him for things. But I wonder what kind of relationship I would have with my husband if I shared only about fifteen minutes a day with him and spent the first minute or two thanking him for what he had done for me and the rest of the time asking him to do something else for me! I doubt we would have a very good relationship!

My husband wants me to love him simply for who he is. And Jesus Christ, Who is my heavenly Husband, also wants to be loved for Who He is. Not just for what He has done, or may do, but for Who He is in Himself. Would you make time each day to praise Jesus for Who He is?

Read the Bible, gleaning His attributes that you might live your life in praise of Who He is.

For You Created

Love, love, love, and even more love this little devotional!

Such a great reminder of why we were created.

If your having a bad day, then this is a great way of being reminded that you matter.

Let the words sink into our hearts from this time forth as we continue to grow in our everyday life.

All life matters! We were created for Him and for a bigger purpose. Now that's just plan AWESOME!

Remember today that your mind, your heart, all that you are has been uniquely crafted by the God of the Universe, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This is the God who sent His one and only Son to die for our sins, that was His will. It was also His will to raise that Son, Jesus Christ, from the dead to be seated at His right hand in heaven. In an infinitely masterful way you have been created, and our Lord delights in you. 

Praise the Lord today because His signature is all over you! Lord Jesus, dissolve all the damaging lies that seek to deceive us. You are life and You cherish us!

Signs Of Success

Do you know if your successful? Do you know what success is? Have you defind it in your life?

I'm not sure I can answer those questions that would satisfy the deepest part of me.

So when I came across this little devotional I got excited. It put a new outlook into my life what true success should be and I can tell you, it isn't at all what I had in mind.

It's better. And I want to sign up and be a life long member of this success club.

Signs of Success

Salvation is in the name of Jesus. You are baptized in that name, both in water and the Holy Spirit. You pray and expect your prayers to be heard and answered in that name. The sick are healed and demons are cast out in that wonderful name.

The early disciples used the name of Jesus, and Satan came against them fiercely. The devil does not want you to start anything of value—and if you do manage to get started, he does not want you to finish. He knows well his time on this earth is quickly running out. Accomplish great things in the name of Jesus and finish strong!

It's Been Said

This little devotional speaks so much truth. 

Saying I believe in Christ is indeed easy to do but the hardest thing is living it.

I remember when I was little someone dear to me telling me if your going to talk the talk, make sure you walk the walk.

However, in these days walking with Christ is getting more and more of a challenge. A challenge that shouldn't be taken lightly.

A challenge that's worth it. A challenge that can change your life and give you a deeper meaning if you let it.

It’s been said, inviting Jesus into our lives to be our savior will be one of the easiest things we’ll ever do. 

However, living for Him will be one of the most difficult things we’ll ever do. We are under constant pressure from the world, other people and the culture around us to conform to it’s ways. The demands of life can easily defeat us. 

This is why it is so important to realize that we cannot be self-reliant in our Christian life. 

We need God’s mighty power to help us remain strong in our faith. We must remember the devil is out to “kill, steal and destroy.”

He works overtime to design strategies that will trip us up when we least expect it. This is why we need to put on “all” of God’s armor so that we can withstand the spiritual attacks from the devil. God’s purpose is that we live a life of victory and maximize our one and only life to it’s full potential. As believers, we are called to make an impact with our lives. 

However, in order to do that effectively, we must “stand firm” so that we can “stand out” for our Lord.

A Personal Computer

I always thought I could see myself as a personal computer. I know alot of stuff goes in, but I'm not necessary proud of what comes out.

So when I saw this little devotional, I couldn't wait to see how the author had to say and I must say I was quite impress and moved to dig deeper in my walk.

I love this devotional and wanted to share it. Be aware, for me at least, this was thought provoking, and very timely for me life.

A Personal Computer

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2, NIV

If you ever have dealt with computers, you know that once in a while it needs to be cleaned, non-applicable temp files and folders needs to be removed and a general check for unnecessary data is needed regularly. 

This is what happens to us when we decide to give our lives to Jesus. We need to clear out trash, empty temp folders, add virus detection and in some difficult cases, and just format the whole thing.

Even though computers are nothing compared to God’s precious gift, there are still a lot of similarities. We need to teach our brain new ways of thinking and reacting and we need to get rid of unnecessary baggage and infected files. This is not an easy task or a speedy one either, but essential for us to be able to continue on the faith path. Studying the Bible, praying, worship, Christian support groups and friends will gradually 

learn our brain on how to live this new life. The Holy Spirit is crucial in renewing our minds, He is the one who will do it in cooperation with us. All we need to do is ask Him.

Prayer: Lord, please help me in the renew my mind, so that I can grow up in my faith to be a mature spiritually. Thank you for not leaving me alone with this task, but help me day after day and lead me through Your Word. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

As soon as I saw the title of this little devotional, I my interest was immediately peeked.

There are day's when I have thought and said the same things so I was encouraged that I may not be the only one.

And as I continue to read, I got encouraged and when I feel encouraged, I want to share the wealth.

Am I Losing My Mind?

For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, [inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). - 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

On days when people can’t seem to gain control of their thoughts, they might say something like, “I feel like I’m losing my mind!” In a way they are, because they seem to be unable to control the thoughts running through it. But when you feel as if you are losing your mind, there are ways to get it back. Our first impulse is to assume we’re not responsible for what goes through our minds, and that there’s simply nothing we can do about it…but that’s not true.

God’s Word gives us clear instructions concerning what to think about and what not to think about. It also teaches us that we have the ability to pick and choose, to keep the good thoughts and cast out those thoughts that poison our lives.

As today’s scripture points out, we’re to get rid of any wrong thoughts, theories or reasoning and lead them away “captive to the obedience of Christ.” Through studying God’s Word, I learned that my thoughts were ruining my life, and if I wanted to enjoy a different quality of life, I had to start controlling them. I discovered God had a great plan for my life., and if I was going to have that life, I was going to have to learn how to agree with Him in my thinking (see Romans 12:2). This led me to the revelation, “Where the mind goes, the man follows.”

And I can safely say that if you need a change in any area of your life, it will start with a change in your mind. With God’s help we can learn to think like He thinks so we can have what He wants us to have, do what He wants us to do, and be who He wants us to be. It’s exciting to realize we can have some measure of control over our words, moods and attitudes by learning how to think better. We can make ourselves sad, mad or glad by what we think and how we talk. If you choose your thoughts carefully, your quality of life will improve in amazing ways.
