Possess the Double

I think we all need to stop seeing the world through our normal eyes and start seeing it how God see it.

Could He possibly see the world as individual land waiting for it to be possessed?

Yes, I know the world is round and God see it all but just maybe this little devotional will spark something in the heart and we begin to see our world, which is our life, our problems, and everything in between, a little differently.

Possess the Double

“For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.” Isaiah 61:7

When you face trouble in your life and the Lord brings you out of it, expect to receive double for your trouble, double for your shame, and double for your confusion. The double that God speaks of doesn’t just come to you. You have to go and get it.

You have to possess it and it’s only in the land where God calls you to reside in. God told the prophet Isaiah that His people would possess the double in their land. Where is your land? Maybe your current land has grown increasingly uncomfortable and you can’t rest there. Begin praying and asking God for direction. In God’s Promised Land for your life, you flourish, you are increased and you are greatly favored by God. Even your enemies come to be at peace with you when you are where God wants you to be. You prosper and increase in wisdom, understanding and power in your land.

You rest while His grace and power does the work. Yes, you will face some giant problems that will try to intimidate you, but God is with you and you won’t be overtaken.

Being in God’s perfect will doesn’t have to be temporary. If you flow with the Lord and let Him do the leading, you will remain in His land and grow there. Your joy will be everlasting!

Prayer: Father, I praise You for Your goodness and grace. Thank you for delivering me out of trouble, and now I pray that You lead me into Your land for me. Place me in Your perfect will and cause me to possess the double. I want to be where You are. Be glorified in my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.
