No Weapon

Maybe you’ve allowed the words of others to put out your fire. What you don’t know is their words are a small wind but God’s presence within you, my sister, is a fiery blaze. Your Father God is an all-consuming fire, and no words are powerful enough to put out His Light. He has been faithfully protecting the treasure He placed within you all this time, and He will continue to allow nothing to reach that place where His Spirit lives. You are covered by the Almighty, and His love surrounds you. His gentle but strong hands are shielding and protecting the fire He’s put within you. My sister, see their words as a small wind that you will rebuke. See the Lord’s fire within you growing more and more each day. He cannot be extinguished. He’s breathing on you now.

Prayer: Father, thank you for speaking directly to the core of my being. You are my Light, you are my Fire, and nothing and no one can put you out. I rebuke the winds of words spoken against me and declare your fire will grow, and I will glow with your love. Thank you for covering me. Thank you for surrounding me. Heal every wound people’s words caused and continue to remind me of who you are within me. You are greater than anything in the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

In this hour, I urge you to be careful what you say about God’s anointed and His people who His presence is with. Speak evil of God’s people and everything, and I do mean everything, in your life will begin to dry up. Your bank accounts, your relationships, your ideas, your wells that were plentiful will all dry up, and the Lord will cause the sun to no longer shine in your life. God’s hand rests upon His people whether you like it or not. He favors His people and will continue to demonstrate His love and show Himself strong on our behalf. Your words are not stronger than God’s. But for your sake, be careful what you say about God’s anointed.

A Tough Choice

For many people, it's a tough choice – pleasure today or eternal life tomorrow. We are so into instant gratification. We find it hard to wait for anything, especially pleasure. We almost want what we want yesterday! We have problems waiting for food, our vacation, and even sex. Even waiting for our computers to warm up seems to take forever! I can remember the early days when you first had to load the operating system and then the disc for whatever program you were using, and then you could begin. It was once considered "forward" to kiss on the first date! A few years ago, I met a young woman whose boyfriend couldn't understand why she wouldn't have intercourse with him after a few dates, and told her that there must be something wrong with her. Really! Television programs about men and women looking for love portray them as becoming sexual partners indiscriminately and then wonder why their relationships aren't permanent. Both men and women are damaged by this. Pornography makes us think that the perfect partner will never grow older or lose their hair, or have any other physical change, so people end marriages because they no longer have the "perfect" partner. There's a big difference between love and lust, but today's world doesn't see it. Whether it is lust, greed or gluttony, sins of the flesh abound. If we attempt to delay any pleasure until it is right, we are considered old-fashioned. However, those who look for love in a healthy way, who know that God has a plan, and are willing to wait, find happiness and joy that others deny themselves. It is never too late to begin to live according to the Spirit; and the rewards in the present as well as in the future are worth it.

Prayer

Everyday we are surrounded with the beautiful reminders of your creation God: flowers, trees, animals, people. I pray that you make me work, to use me as a vessel to blossom and spread my gifts to the world, spreading your joy to all that encounter me, just as you did with Jesus Christ. His eternal harvest is one that keeps on giving, and I pray that you help me give all that I can in my time. Amen.

Inspiration 

Living our lives as an example for fellow Christians and nonbelievers feels overwhelming. Each of us is human and makes poor choices that lead to sin. We cannot become lazy and use our imperfections as an excuse. Instead, we must change our behavior to directly reflect the nature of God. We can start by seeking peace with one another. Showing God’s compassion through brotherly love is the best example we can display.

Prayer

Dear Lord, please fill us with Your Spirit and guide us to making peace with one another so we may be exceptional examples of Your compassion and love. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Today's Meditation:

Nothing touches the hearts and minds of others as deeply as kindness. It speaks universally, it crosses all barriers, and it opens all doors. If we wish to make this world a better place, all we must do is show more kindness.

The wonderful thing about kindness is we all have an unlimited supply of it. It costs us very little, yet it yields greatly for all. When I see the child that is sad, I can offer a smile, or say hello. To the lonely person sitting all alone, I can sit down and have a friendly conversation, or even simply sit next to them to offer them company while I eat. Who knows how much we each will benefit from the random acts of kindness we put forth in this world.

Each day we have breath to breathe, we can fill our lives with nameless acts of kindness and love. It takes very little effort when all is said and done. Make your spouse smile by leaving a loving note. Surprise your children with their favorite candy. Help your neighbor or a friend with a little chore. Visit the elderly at the nursing home. Call your parents or siblings and tell them that you love them. These acts of kindness will fill the hearts of the recipients and will overflow onto the rest of the world filling it with love and kindness.

Today's Challenge: Show kindness to three people today.

Questions to consider:

What are some of acts of kindness and love can you perform today? Are you able to do so without anyone knowing who did them?

What kinds of effects on others do such acts have?

Does the kindness you put out into the world end with that recipient, or carry on endlessly filling the cups of others in life?

For further thought:

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.

I declare and decree that the enemy’s planned attack is canceled right now and I declare and decree that God will show that He is on our side. I declare and decree we win in Jesus. We are protected by Almighty God. Jesus is our Advocate, God is our Defense, the Father, Holy Spirit and The Word bears witness for us, and God is our Judge.
