Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly--not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. (NLT) -1 Peter 5:2
You have a flock that God has placed into your care, even if you don't realize it. Friends, children, parents, or neighbors are under our care. We often push ourselves to care for them out of obligation, but this makes it difficult if our heart is not willing to serve.
Tap into your desire to serve God when relationships are strained among the flock. Have you identified your flock that you care for?

This is a little devotional explaining why God has not and will not turn His back on His chosen people.
As Christians, we are called and ordered, yes ordered to stand with Israel in all things.
With this one command comes a huge promise of blessings. In the end, we will see who was right but as for me and my house, and my hope is yours, we will be praying for the peace of Jerusalem.
God Bless.
Pray for Israel
“Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. ” Psalm 122:6 (NLT)
Arab-Israeli conflict has been brewing over a 4000 year timespan, with roots stemming from Abraham’s two sons, Isaac and Ishmael and escalating all throughout the Old Testament. Fast forward to today, we find Israel in need of our prayers like never before. It is our responsibility as Christians to pray for the peace and safety within the borders of God’s holy city. God said “Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye” (Zech. 2:9) As we pray, we are praying for a people dear to God’s heart. We are also praying for the soon return of Jesus. Walk in obedience to God and pray for the peace of Jerusalem, pray for financial and military assistance, pray for diplomatic support, and that Jesus will return and establish His Kingdom. Do this and God will reward you and richly bless you.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray for the people of Israel. Your word tells me that they are the apple of Your eye. I pray that You bless them with peace and divine protection from the Palestinian armies. I pray Your light shines in the midst of darkness and the US will provide continued diplomatic support and faithful assistance to our friends. As their enemies are coming against them to kill them, Lord I pray that You lift up a standard against them and stir the hearts of Your people to pray. Come Lord Jesus. Come. Amen.

I think we all need to stop seeing the world through our normal eyes and start seeing it how God see it.
Could He possibly see the world as individual land waiting for it to be possessed?
Yes, I know the world is round and God see it all but just maybe this little devotional will spark something in the heart and we begin to see our world, which is our life, our problems, and everything in between, a little differently.
God Bless.
Possess the Double
“For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.” Isaiah 61:7
When you face trouble in your life and the Lord brings you out of it, expect to receive double for your trouble, double for your shame, and double for your confusion. The double that God speaks of doesn’t just come to you. You have to go and get it.
You have to possess it and it’s only in the land where God calls you to reside in. God told the prophet Isaiah that His people would possess the double in their land. Where is your land? Maybe your current land has grown increasingly uncomfortable and you can’t rest there. Begin praying and asking God for direction. In God’s Promised Land for your life, you flourish, you are increased and you are greatly favored by God. Even your enemies come to be at peace with you when you are where God wants you to be. You prosper and increase in wisdom, understanding and power in your land.
You rest while His grace and power does the work. Yes, you will face some giant problems that will try to intimidate you, but God is with you and you won’t be overtaken.
Being in God’s perfect will doesn’t have to be temporary. If you flow with the Lord and let Him do the leading, you will remain in His land and grow there. Your joy will be everlasting!
Prayer: Father, I praise You for Your goodness and grace. Thank you for delivering me out of trouble, and now I pray that You lead me into Your land for me. Place me in Your perfect will and cause me to possess the double. I want to be where You are. Be glorified in my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.

It is so hard to let God be our storyteller but we must because if we don't we are slapping God in the face and telling Him what He already has created is nothing but a joke, disappointment, ugly, and every thing inbetween.
We must learn to let go and let God.
God Bless.
WHO IS MY STORYTELLER?
By Ron Vanderwellon
Scripture Reading: Psalm 139:1-4, 15-16
All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
—Psalm 139:16
Sometimes I think I would be a lot more comfortable if I could write my own story. After all, I’ve got some pretty good ideas for my life. For instance, I can picture a story in which I am rich, successful, and famous.
But my life already has a storyteller—and it’s not me. God is my author, and he wants me to trust him for the best possible story line.
That’s where things get tricky. If you’re like me, we often have a hard time with the idea of trusting God as our storyteller. We think it would be easier if God would simply propose chapters for us to consider. But God doesn’t look for our approval. He unveils chapters that often catch us completely by surprise. My story has had chapters like “How Deep Fear Helped Me Learn to Pray Fervently” and “Disappointments Change My Priorities for My Life.” I would never have given my approval to chapters like those, but my Storyteller didn’t ask me. Instead he has been using chapters like those to shape me into his image.
I’m now getting far enough into my own particular story to see a bit of what God is up to. If I made my own story line, I probably would have become a spoiled brat, sulking whenever I didn’t get my way. Instead, God has been helping me discover the joy and peace that comes through following Jesus.
Prayer:
God, I know you are writing my story. Help me see more of what you are up to, and help me look forward to the next chapter. Amen.
Sometimes you just have to pull that door. Hope you find encouragement through this devotional.
God Bless.
Pull the Door
“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV)
There we were standing outside the glass doors looking in. My friend and I arrived at an event, but the doors were closed. We looked in to see if we recognized someone who would open the door for us. We saw that other people were going in another door, but figured they had a special pass to enter and we did not have such a pass. The security guard was watching us, but offered no solution for our dilemma. We texted people, glanced around etc., to no avail. Then we saw a friend of ours who opened the door and we later received a text message which said, “Pull the door.” Much to our surprise the door was unlocked the entire time. While we stood looking in, all we had to do was open the door and enter the building. We laughed about the incident, but the spiritual implications were huge. Are there times when you feel as if you are on the outside looking in at others enjoying life? Then I have a message for you, “Pull the Door”.
Pull open the door to the Bible which is full of promises just for you. Your Heavenly Father is not locking you out of any promise in His Word and your feelings should never be an indicator to you on your status in life.
Daughter of the King, your Father never wants you standing on the outside looking in. He has made a way for you and has already said “Yes, that promise is yours. Amen to that promise for you.” All of God’s promises are “Yes and So Be It!”
Praise the LORD! Make a decision to go through the door of His Word and unfold the promises in it for your life. Don’t look around for someone to open them for you. Another person may help get you started, but there are no short cuts, you will have to do this yourself. No special pass required here either, only faith in God’s Word. Stay on the path your Father has for you which is a life of victory and walk in the fullness of His promises in every area of your life!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I make a decision to open Your Word and seek out Your promises for my life. I know that You have already said, “Yes” to those promises for me and now I have to say “yes” to them as well. I thank You for Your goodness toward me and for teaching me how to walk in every promise You have just for me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

I often have trouble with praying. I often wonder if I am doing it right and wonder if God actually hears me. I love this devotional because it helps me in an area I struggle with. I hope it helps you as well.
God Bless.
Matthew 6:7-8 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
This is really more a depth question than a length question. Pride can be at work even here in the heart of the person praying - which is a danger whether your prayer is very long, or very short. Approach God as who He is: our loving heavenly Father. He knows you perfectly, knows what you need, and is able to answer! Trust Him with your heart, because He has proven faithful and His love is known as "unfailing".
There is no need to impress God with many words, simply reveal your heart to Him in prayer.

In writing your story with God do you ever get frustrated and angry and stomp your foot asking where are You, God? I know I have and am in the process of letting things go. So for me, this little devotional helps me to hang on one more day and allows me to continue to write my story with God.

GOD’S RESPONSE: WRITING A HAPPY ENDING
By Ron Vanderwellon
Scripture Reading: Revelation 21:1-5
He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
—Revelation 21:4
In addition to a good beginning, every story also needs a good ending. A story is like a bus: a good one will pick you up wherever you are and drop you off somewhere else.
Some of the best stories have a happy ending, in which the main characters live “happily ever after.” A really good story gives you hints of that as it goes along, but it also leaves you wondering how the characters will eventually get there.
The Bible presents us with the happiest of all endings in the book of Revelation. The struggles of our world draw to a close as the risen Jesus Christ finally returns to this world, bringing heaven and earth together. At long last he will wipe every tear from our eyes, every wrong will be made right, and we will live with God and each other, as in the beginning.
If you’re like me, you long for that happy ending, maybe without even knowing it. Life involves disappointments. The people in our lives disappoint us, our bodies become sick, or old age steadily erodes our sense of vitality. When we struggle, something inside us wants to sigh heavily, “It shouldn’t have to be like this!” That’s the sigh of every troubled teen, neglected spouse, or lonely widower.
God’s response is simple: “You’re right—it shouldn’t have to be like this. And in the end it won’t be. Just stick with the story until the happy ending.”
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, give us an eagerness for the happy ending that awaits us at the end of your story. Amen.
Are we truly writing a good story between God and ourselves? Are we living our lives to the fullest the way God intended? Are we having an impact? Changing things for the better?
This little devotional might put us on the right path again.
OUR STORY WITH GOD: A GOOD START
By Ron Vanderwellon
Scripture Reading: Genesis 1:1-8, 26-31
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
—Genesis 1:1
What makes for a good story? In ancient Greece the philosopher Aristotle reflected on what makes stories powerful. He concluded that every effective story has three parts: a beginning, a middle, and an end. While this observation might seem obvious, he was actually highlighting some common misperceptions about stories.
For instance, every story needs a good beginning. The story needs to start by showing us people and situations with which we have something in common. While those people may live in settings that are very different from ours, there needs to be a sense in which we can understand how they feel and why they do things the way they do.
The story of the Bible starts with a really good beginning. There’s a wonderful new world, created by God just for us. We have the chance to share this with God, forever. But we’re given a choice—we will need to accept God’s authority and his instructions if we wish to live with him. In other words, we will need to either embrace God’s presence in our lives or reject him outright.
You and I have been created to live rich, full lives in complete abandon to the goodness of God. Although our lives don’t look like that anymore, we still ache for it. That’s where our story begins.
Prayer:
God, we almost get used to the constant stream of bad news in our world. Please help us remember that you created us in the first place to enjoy full life with you. Amen.
I love this devotional! I pray I never lose my thirst for Him but some time's life gets busy, gets in the way, or other situations arises that can cause us to put Him on the back burner.
We need to #staystrong #stayfocused and thirst for Him like never before.
I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?
(NLT) -Psalm 42:2
Are you thirsting for God right now? Thirsting for water is a slow, small feeling that takes root in your tongue that grows until you cannot stand it anymore. In thirsting for God, your days are not quite right and you are wandering aimlessly until you just cannot go further without connecting with God. Quench your thirst and spend some time with God. Read His Words, listen to Him in prayer, or just be still. He is there waiting for you.
This devotional is from John Piper. After reading this I'm well aware of just how little I know and understand the greatest of who He is.
After reading this, I know I want to know Him more! May this devotional will put a desire into you as well.
God Bless.
“Behold, God is great, and we know him not; the number of his years is unsearchable.” (Job 36:26)
It is impossible to know God too well.
He is the most important person who exists. And this is because he made all others, and any importance they have is owing to him.
Any strength or intelligence or skill or beauty they have comes from him. On every scale of excellence, he is infinitely greater than the best person you ever knew or ever heard of.
Being infinite, he is inexhaustibly interesting. It is impossible, therefore, that God be boring. His continual demonstration of the most intelligent and interesting actions is volcanic.
As the source of every good pleasure, he himself pleases fully and finally. If that’s not how we experience him, we are either dead or sleeping.
It is therefore astonishing how little effort is put into knowing God.
It’s as though the President of the United States came to live with you for a month, and you only said hello in passing every day or so. Or as if you were flown at the speed of light for a couple of hours around the sun and the solar system, and instead of looking out the window, you played a computer game. Or as if you were invited to watch the best actors, singers, athletes, inventors, and scholars perform their best, but you declined to go so you could watch the TV season’s final soap.
Let us pray that our infinitely great God would open our eyes and hearts to see him and seek to know him more.
