Whisper

Here is some great advice when it comes to hearing God's voice.

Just remember, His voice is going to be a small still voice not those loud voices that are continually coming at us.

And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. (NLT) -1 Kings 19:12

The story that is being told in 1 Kings is about Elijah running from his enemies.  He is upset with God and meets him in the wilderness.  When God is ready to speak to him there was an earthquake, then a windstorm, and a fire but God was not in these mighty displays.  Next comes a gentle whisper and that was God.  We often look for mighty signs as proof that God is speaking in our lives but we miss it because God is in the whisper.  Quiet your heart and mind and open your ears to hear God’s gentle voice.
