A Ransom

Food for thought.

God Bless.

A RANSOM

Mark 10:45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

“A RANSOM for many!” Here Christ is set forth as the penalty for the sins of the world. As sinners under the judgment wrath of God, He took our place and paid the penalty and the price of our deliverance with His Own Blood. Listen to the drops of Blood as they fall from hands and feet and wounded side! They Voice the Words, “The ransom price for my sins and for the sins of the whole world.” Would that men everywhere would believe it and receive it. How dear, how precious is He to us, washed clean in His Blood and freed forever from the punishment due us.

Lord, may our ransomed souls well up in praise to Thy glorious Name! Amen.

He Is God

He truly is the Way, the Truth, and the Light. Simply put... He is God.

God Bless.

He Is God
Today : He Is God

TODAY’S VERSE
“Then he asked them, ‘But who do you say I am?”’ Matthew 16:15 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Who do you think Jesus is? Jesus asked this crucial question to His disciples. It is a question that we too must answer. The answer is life changing. What we think about God helps define the relationship we have with Him. If we believe God is distant and aloof, we will find our self distant from Him. If God is harsh and unpredictable, then we will have a relationship based on fear and anxiety. But what if God is exactly the way Jesus exhibited Him? What if the Prodigal’s father was a true representative of the forgiveness and love of God? What if all that Paul writes about our God of faithfulness, mercy and grace is true? Couldn’t that change our life if we really believed it? Yes, it would. Jesus is indeed God in the flesh. His love, sacrifice and tender mercy toward those in need is the exact image of His Father. Today, come to the God that Jesus revealed. Acknowledge that He is the loving, caring, holy, just, faithful, almighty, all knowing and all powerful God and live for Him.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, help me to know You as You really are. Reveal Yourself to me so I can love, worship and honor You with my life. Forgive me for all my misconceptions. Help me to know You in all Your beauty, love and holiness.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I know who Jesus is
Relax and begin to think of everything you know about Jesus. Think of His miracles. Consider His teachings. Visualize Him being full of love and compassion, just like the Bible teaches. Think of all the good He did to those around Him. See Him dying on the Cross for you. Picture His glorious resurrection. This is Jesus, our Savior and our God. Rejoice in Him.

Life Is Short

This... Some great food for thought.

God Bless.

Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom. (NLT) -Ecclesiastes 9:10

Life is short. Keep in mind that in this life we have just one opportunity to use all that God has gifted us. It's easy to get lazy and neglectful, and God has challenged us to do our best in whatever we put our mind to doing. Let us rise to the call and do well.

Even After All This Time

Inspire me. Inspire us all by the word's written below.

God Bless

Today's Quotation:

Even after all this time. The sun never says to the earth, "you owe me." Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky.

Hafiz

Today's Meditation:

Love is arguably the most powerful force in the world that we have at our disposal--it costs us very little and produces so much. But if we wish to use it to its full potential "lighting up the whole sky," then we must give it to others, and we must do so without conditions. If I desire authentic love, then I cannot say I will offer it only to those I like, or exclusively to my friends and family--I must show love to all humans, regardless of who they are, what they have done, or what they believe, for when we place conditions on our love, we weaken its power and diminish its very nature.

Hafiz is sharing with us a very powerful message about love--its selfless nature. As he puts it, "the sun never tells the Earth, 'you owe me.'" Although it receives nothing in return, it endlessly lights up the entire sky of half the Earth. We should strive for this love--a love that nurtures and sustains, a love that shines outwardly instead of in, a love that provides energy and warmth for others, a love that asks nothing in return.

Society likes to romanticize love and make it appear as something we fall into. But love is not a state of being, it is a positive action; it is something we must actively give. If we only love because we expect to receive something back, then we are placing conditions on that love.

Love is a power. Love is a cause. Love can change the world. But this type of love--this powerful, positive force in the world--must come without conditions.

Today's Challenge: Show unconditional love towards others today.

Questions to consider:

What are some conditions you place on your love?

How might you better use love as a positive force? Is there anything holding you back?

What kinds of positive things might you accomplish if you were to use love as a positive force?

For further thought:

When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

And They Were All Amazed

This.... May we find ways to allow God to make us speechless more than we already do.

I believe He wants to move in our lives more and more.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

Inspiration

The people were amazed when the disciples began to speak in tongues, making it possible for all nations to understand them as they shared the Word of God. How many times has God left us speechless? We have encountered many problems He has helped us solve. We have also celebrated many joyous occasions, always knowing that He is responsible for the incredible outcome. We are in awe of our amazing God!

Prayer

Dear God, You are amazing! We respect Your power and are grateful for your presence in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Leaving it right here.

God Bless.

Hope And Cheer

Some food for thought mixed with encouragement.

God Bless.

Hope And Cheer
Today : Hope And Cheer

TODAY’S VERSE
“When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.” Psalms 94:19 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
God created us for peace and joy. But doubt is a reality we all face. Uncertainly, apprehension, distrust and confusion are part of our everyday life. None of us are unscathed. Life is full of ambiguity, but God has made us resilient. His presence and power gives us the comfort and strength we need to bounce back from doubt and painful emotions. The Psalmist says it plainly. When doubt fills our mind, God’s comfort gives us renewed hope and cheer. Today, come to God. Lean on Him. Tell Him your concerns, worries, fears and nagging doubts. Pour your heart out to Him. He cares and He will comfort you. He will bring you back to hope and joy.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, you know how many doubts, fears, apprehensions cross my mind. I need you. I need your comfort. Come Lord Jesus, fill my heart with hope and cheer!
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
God returns me from doubt to hope and joy
Come to God today with all your doubts, fears and concerns. See your self before Him. Does He care? Will He make a difference? Sense the doubt in your heart. But in your mind, come closer to Christ. See His face, See His nail scarred hands. Sense His heart full of love for you. Give Him your doubts and misgivings. Today, know deep in your heart that Christ is alive and He wants to fill you with all the hope and joy you can hold.

A Priest Forever

Always and forever.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

A Priest Forever

“Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.” Hebrews 5:6

He is our High Priest, our Great High Priest, and He is also a Priest forever after the similitude of Melchisedec (Gen. 14:18-20) that strange character who typified our Lord. Will Christ be our representative throughout eternity? Yes- and we will be His representatives throughout eternity. For our new life is eternal. Our habitation will be eternal. How it warms our hearts to think of that word “forever” in connection with our relation to Christ! He is our eternal High Priest and we are to be kings and priests in association with HIm (Rev. 1:6). We are poor, undone, heel-deserving sinners, but through Him, we are lifted to eternal heights.

Lord, Thou great High Priest, help us to honor Thee by lip and life. Amen.

Be Strong In The Lord

Encouragement to stay strong in the your beliefs of the Lord. He will not let us down.

God Bless.

Today Be Strong In The Lord
Today : Today Be Strong In The Lord

TODAY’S VERSE
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
We need strength. Suffering with chronic pain. Struggling to pay the bills. Arguing with your teenage daughter. Feeling discouraged about your job. Rocking from a ruined relationship. All of us have a story. None of us goes unscathed. But we do not have to bear our sorrows alone and afraid. We don’t have to be helpless victims. Instead Paul ends Ephesians with this word, “Finally, be strong.” Be strong. The presence of a resilient attitude, a hopeful spirit, a resolve to never give up, to fight, to hang on. But how? How can we get the strength we need? Listen to how Paul finishes his verse. “Be strong in the LORD and in His mighty strength.” What a difference a few words can make. We can be strong in His strength. It is mighty strength. It is loving strength. It is your strength. Like a child is carried in the strength of his father’s arms, so let God carry your burden today. Today be strong, but not in yourself. Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power!

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, you told me to be strong. You know I need to. But I confess Lord, I have tried to be strong in my own power not yours. I need your power. I need you. Please take my burdens. Help me today to be strong in You and Your mighty power.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I am strong in the Lord and His mighty power
Today visualize the possibilities. Think of a time when you sensed the power of God. Let your imagination fill it’s impact. Now think of an area where you are weak. Bring the image of God and His power into that scene. See God desiring to help you. Feel His love and picture Him helping you. Sense yourself full of God’s strength and power. Say out loud, “I am strong in the Lord and His mighty power.”

For I Know This

Food for thought in the word's written below.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Inspiration

We must make Bible Study a priority in order to remain well versed in the Word. The devil is always on the prowl and places false prophets in our paths to throw us off course. They tell us sinful lifestyles aren’t really all that bad and they twist Scripture to fit their own agenda. Some despise Christianity and seek ways to tear it apart. Bible Study strengthens our knowledge and wisdom, exposing these imposters.

Prayer

Dear Lord, help us study daily to gain wisdom needed to expose imposters who seek to destroy Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Trust God

Nothing wrong with a little trust in the One who created you.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

DAILY AFFIRMATION DEVOTIONAL

POSTED BY CHRISTIAN CHANNEL
Trust God
Today : Trust God

TODAY’S VERSE
“Praise the LORD! For he has heard my cry for mercy. The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.” Psalms 28:6-8 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
It is hard to relax. I mean really relax. Why is it? We say we have faith and yet we are wound up tighter than a spring ready to snap at the next bit of pressure. Perhaps it is because when it comes to living life on our own, we are way over our head. We try, but life is so complicated. There are so many variables. But the truth is, God never intended us to live life all by ourself. He wants us to depend on Him. He wants us to live with His love and mercy helping us along the way. This is where fellowship with God is born. When we acknowledge that He is God, that He loves us and we begin to communicate with Him and share our inner struggles and needs, He hears us and gives us the help we need. God is pleased. And so are we. David knew this and proclaimed, “I trust Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.” Today, relax, give it all to Him. Trust God, He will have mercy and help you.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father God, I come and bring all my burdens to You. I am so tired of trying to fix everything myself. I need You. I ask You for mercy. Please help me today, I pray. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I Put My Trust In God
Quiet your heart and come before God in prayer. Sense this big burden you are carrying on your back. Picture God wanting to take the burden from you. Take it off and lay it at His feet. Feel the relief as you take it off your back. Sense the joy in God’s heart as you give it to Him. He has heard your cry for mercy and is pleased to help you. Smile and feel the joy in your heart as you say, “I put my trust in God.”

Close To God

Something to think about.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

BY CHRISTIAN CHANNEL
Close To God
Today : Close To God

TODAY’S VERSE
“Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” James 4:8 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
A person shared that there was a sign on the expressway that said, “Do you feel far away from God?” He was thinking about the question when the next billboard read, “Who moved?” Isn’t that usually the case? When we feel far from God, it is because we have turned our back on Him. James knew that we have this propensity so he wrote, “Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” But the question is, how do we come close to God? The first thing we need to do is turn back in the right direction. The Prophet Isaiah wrote, “It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.” Confessing to God and repenting from any sin, will allow us to have a clear conscience and reopen the door of fellowship Him. Then we can turn to God with our heart and mind. Both our emotions and thoughts have so much to do with our relationship with Him. We come to Him in quietness, reflection, meditation and prayer. We open our emotions and thoughts to Him and allow His Holy Spirit to commune with us, guiding, convicting, teaching and directing our life. God desires to have a relationship with us. He hasn’t moved. Will you come to Him today?

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I must confess that there are so many times I feel so distant from You. I admit my own wandering. Forgive me for the sin that has separated us and help me to stay in close fellowship with you. I give you my heart and my mind. Lead me by Your Holy Spirit, I pray.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I have fellowship with God
Stop and allow God to speak to you about anything that would be in the way of fellowship with Him. As He brings anything to mind, confess it and ask for forgiveness. Allow God to forgive and cleanse you. As you do, picture yourself moving toward God and He being there, waiting and very happy to be with you. Take a deep breathe and then say, “I have fellowship with God.”

God's Throne

Interesting little devotional.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

BY CHRISTIAN CHANNEL
God’s Throne
Today : God’s Throne

TODAY’S VERSE
“So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Hebrew 4:14-16 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Sometimes you need a helping hand. You need someone who understands what you are going through and can help you navigate difficult times. Jesus is that intercessor. He is God with all the power and wisdom we need, yet because of His volunteer time spent on earth in human form, He knows exactly what we are going through. He knows all our limitations, frailty, emotions and how to work with them and live a victorious life. He can guide us down the same path of faith, strength, hope and love that He took. So let’s do what the author of Hebrews suggests. Let’s come boldly to our gracious God and ask Him for the help we need today. We will find Him gracious, compassionate and able to help us when we need it the most.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Jesus, I come to You because You know all about me. You know my situation. You know my thoughts, my frustrations and my desires. You know my needs. I come to You because You are the Almighty God and can do all things. And yet with all Your Holiness, You are still endlessly compassionate toward me. You promised that if I come to You, You will help me when I need it the most. I come to You now. I give You this day with all of its challenges, struggles and complexities. Make me conscious of Your presence as You meet the deepest needs of my heart and life today. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I come boldly to the throne of our gracious God
Quiet your heart and sense the loving presence of God. Picture God’s throne a far off. Slowly start to approach God on the throne. As you do, sense His pleasure in your approaching Him. Feel a joy deep within you and imagine coming boldly into God’s very throne room. Say to God, “I come dear God for Your grace and mercy and thank You for Your wonderful love for me.”

Let Us Think

It's time to lift others and show them the way home and to the only one who can make their lives worth living.

Be encouraged.

God Bless.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. (NLT) -Hebrews 10:24

Do you know of someone who is down? Give your best effort to encourage them. A hot meal goes a long way to help someone who is depressed. Put yourself in their position and use gentle words to build them up. Take a moment to thoughtfully encourage your friend. Reviving their spirit enables them to be their lovable selves again.

You Will

A uplifting and encouring little devotional to start the New Year out right.

God Bless.

“A Message from the Father's Heart for You

You will experience many trials because you have dedicated your life to following Me. The hardships you face will seem unbearable at times and you will feel as though you are all alone. But know while it may seem I'm no where around you. I have angels on guard ready to come to your rescue. You are protected on all sides and shielded by My grace. So, do not fear, for I am with you. I have given you strength, power, and authority to place the enemy under your feet. Remember, you do not fight against flesh and blood but against the powers, principalities, and the rulers of this dark world. As you put on My full armor each day and walk in the authority I have given you, no weapon formed against you will prosper.

A Great Fish

Little inspiration meant to be an encouragement.

God Bless.

Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Inspiration

When we give our children rules, we expect them to obey! When they mistakenly break one, we redirect their focus to keep them safe. We love our children and want to protect them; God is our heavenly Father, and we surrender our desires to obey Him. He gives us instructions to avoid sin because it brings darkness into our lives that will cause us sorrow and misery. We are thankful to have a Lord and Savior who stops us in our tracks and redirects our direction. He will always lovingly protect us.

Prayer

Dear Lord, we happily obey You because Your instructions lead us away from the world and closer to You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

A Great Big Happy Life

A new year, new mindset. Why not start by being encouraged with this little devotional.

God Bless.

A Great Big Happy Life

Adapted from the resource Power Thoughts Devo - by Joyce Meyer
1 MIN READ

It’s God’s will for us to grow up and mature spiritually. It’s God’s will for us to have good relationships. It’s God’s will for us to have good lives.

If you’ve had a negative past, it’s because the enemy interfered and got in. No matter what you went through or what you might be going through right now, you can be positive about your future. Think about it positively; talk about it positively.

It’s a bad attitude to say, “I guess I’ll just have more of what I’ve always had.” I encourage you to have a positive vision for your future. God says people without vision perish (see Proverbs 29:18). No matter what has happened in the past, no matter what is going on right now, you can believe something great will happen in your future.

Prayer of the Day: Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus and ask that you help me be more positive, and not waste time looking back to the past. Lead me and guide me toward the positive future You have planned for me, amen.

Settle Your Differences

Just some food for thought to help make 2024 a good year.

God Bless.

Settle Your Differences

"When you are on the way to court with your adversary, settle your differences quickly. Otherwise, your accuser may hand you over to the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, and you will be thrown into prison." (NLT) -Matthew 5:25
Pride can seep into a relationship when disagreements occur. The longer you sit and stew over your disagreement, the harder it is to reconcile. Pretty soon, days, weeks, and years pass by and you become accustomed to the way things have become in the relationship. Every passing moment without reconciliation makes it that much harder to turn around and say you are sorry. Don't let your pride get the better side of you. Make it a practice to hurry and settle your differences quickly.

A Good Reputation

Starting 2024 off with a bang. Good to think about and keep in the back of your mind.

God Bless.

A Good Reputation

Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. (NLT) -Hebrews 11:2
What do your neighbors say about you? Are you viewed as a person whose word is as good as gold? How valuable is your handshake? It is important to note a direct result of being faithful to God is the gift of a good reputation. When you are faithful to God it correlates that you are faithful to other people as well. Be careful though, it's easy to take pride in your reputation.

Shine

Love this! Be encouraged.

God Bless.

Shine so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. (NLT) -Philippians 2:15

If we want to be the light of God with credibility, we must live by the standards God’s word lays out for our lives. Even when the world around us embraces evil, we are to stand firm in our faith and live clean, innocent lives. When others lie, we tell the truth. When others let greed rule their choices, we are generous. This is how we shine for Jesus, in our broken world.
