God Will Wipe Away Every Tear

With this being the end of a season of Thanksgiving, aka November, and we begin to usher in the reason for the season, aka December. It is important to remember that the holidays can be a ruff time for people who have gone through rough times, loss, and other drama.

People need encouragement and a sense of light at the end of the tunnel and it's our job to make sure we give them something to hold on to...a sense...a purpose...hope.

God Bless.

God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. - Revelation 21:4, NKJV
In the beginning, we were never intended to die. Death was not a part of God’s original plan. He created you and me for Himself. He intended us to live with Him and enjoy Him forever in an uninterrupted, permanent, personal, love relationship. But sin came into our lives and broke the very relationship with God for which we were created.

  • When your loved one dies and your grief is tinged with anger, don’t direct it toward God. He’s angry too. Direct it toward sin and its devastating consequences. Dedicate yourself to sharing the gospel as often as you can. Pray that through your witness others who face physical death will choose to escape the second death, which is hell, the ultimate separation from God, by placing their faith in Jesus Christ. As we face death, our only hope is in knowing there is genuine, triumphant, permanent victory over it that is available to us in Jesus’ Name!

Advent: What Is Hope

This advent devotional is about hope. Not only this advent devotional is intended for adults but it also includes any children you might have and I love that about this devotional.

As we begin this season, remember, there are those, young and old who are in need of hope and it's our job to help in any way we can.

Remember: Jesus is the reason for the season.

God Bless.

What Is Hope?

There is a distinct difference between the definition of hope used from an ordinary human standpoint, and the definition of hope we find in the pages of Scripture. It is pretty common to hope, right? We hope we get a job.

We hope our kids are well behaved. We hope we make enough money to pay our bills. But our human hope implies a degree of uncertainty, things are not sure, they are possibilities but not certainties. In Scripture, however, hope is void of uncertainty. In fact, certainty is at its core, because it rests in the stability of God, His character and His will, which are unwavering. Biblical hope, then, can be defined as, “the confident expectation and desire for something good in the future.”

We also see in Scripture the close connection between hope and faith. In Hebrews 6:11-12, the writer of Hebrews uses the term, “full assurance of hope”. This phrase is also used in Hebrews 10:22 and translated, “full assurance of faith”. Faith defined for us in Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is both the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen.

So hope is an element of faith looking specifically toward the future, while faith encompasses a belief and trust in God for our past, our present, and our future. This distinction is critical to understanding the confidence that lies in a biblically defined hope. Hope is essential to our faith.

Families With Young Children

KIDS, What are some things you hope for? Maybe you are hoping that Christmas will get here fast? Maybe you hope that you will get that one gift you really want? Are you hoping it will snow? We often hope for things but we are unsure if they will happen or not. Scripture tells us that we can be sure of our hope in Christ and we do not have to be uncertain!

Read Hebrews 6:11-12 and Hebrews 11:1. KIDS, What is hope similar to? (faith) Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, so we can have complete trust in God's promises. So is there a difference in our hope for the things of this world and the hope we have in Christ?

Read Luke 1:5-17. KIDS, Do you think Elizabeth was hoping for a child? Who do these verses say was coming? (John the Baptist) What was John the Baptist's purpose? (to prepare the way for Christ and to ready the people for His coming) What are some things you learn about who John was going to be according to these verses? (he will be righteous and great in the sight of the Lord, he will help turn God's people back to Him, he will be filled with the Holy Spirit)

Get Up

It's after Thanksgiving and I'm on the comeback trail.

That's my new moto and when I came across this devotional, I knew I was on the right track.

There's nothing better than a comeback story. It's life changing and it can changes the life of others.

Who knows, depending on the how big of a comeback is needed and the person, who knows it just might start a revolution and change a nation, maybe even the world.

God Bless.

Get Up

All funerals are bleak. But the one we read about in Luke 7:11–16 was especially disheartening. The Scripture says the man who’d just died was the only son of a widow. If you were a widow in those days, you were basically broke. Legally, you couldn’t own property or a business. You were dependent on relatives. Most directly, your son, if you were lucky enough to have one. If you didn’t have a son or if he died, then you were destined for certain poverty and dismay.

That’s what this widow was facing. Her husband had died, and now her only son was dead. She had a broken heart and a grim future. But then Jesus stepped into the situation.

Straightaway, he did something about the dire situation. He walked up to the stretcher and held on to it, enough so that those carrying the stretcher stood still. The funeral procession instantly ground to a halt. That’s when Jesus spoke to a dead man and told him to get up. It all happened so quickly. Scripture describes how the dead man rose up and began to talk. Then Jesus gave him back to his mother.

I love that there’s an exclamation point in the Bible right then. “Get up!” Jesus was reaching with his power and authority into death and commanding that which was dead to be alive again. Jesus wasn’t merely hoping something good would happen. He was giving death an order. “Death, you don’t have the power here. I have the power. You will obey!”

Immediately the young man sat up. Can you picture that? The graveclothes came loose, and he pawed at the coverings around his eyes. It was like a zombie movie, except this guy wasn’t a member of the living dead. He was completely alive, fully restored and made healthy again.

That’s the same word Jesus is saying to you now, the same word he said to that young man. “Get up!” Even though the enemy wants to bury you, Jesus is in the habit of interrupting funerals. He intersected the one in Nain as well as several others during his ministry, and he can intersect yours with the intentionality and power of the one who raises the dead.

The message of the gospel is that Jesus loves to interrupt funerals. In Jesus’ hands, he turns stretchers into worship celebrations. He grabs hold of your stretcher and tells you to live again. God wants to touch your life and use your life to raise up hope for your generation. It’s time to let Jesus shine his light of truth and mercy and grace and healing on you. It’s time for you to get off your stretcher and walk back into town.

It may be that the people who knew you best will stare at you in astonishment and exclaim, “What happened to you?” because they can’t believe it. They knew you were heading for the cemetery. But Jesus’ message is that there isn’t going to be a funeral today. He’s the God of the comeback. Let him touch you and heal you and turn your life around.

Respond
What does the story of the widow of Nail reveal about the enemy’s plans for us? What does it reveal about Jesus’ plans for us?

How can you see yourself in this story? How has Jesus rescued you from death?

What is Jesus doing right now to lead you away from the path of destruction?

Grieving-But With Hope

I'm on a roll this week with my hope message.

As you can tell, I maybe grieving the loss of a love one that has thrown me for a loop and with this being Thanksgiving and all, I need an extra boost.

I'm so thankful I've come across these devotionals dealing with grief and turning in back into hope.

Sure I can't be the only one who is having trouble with and with the holidays in toe and I really want to share the very things that is helping me get through.

Together we will find strength and find hope on the other side.

God Bless.

Grieving – but with Hope

Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. - 1 Thessalonians 4:13, NIV

When I was small, my grandmother lived right across the street from where I lived with my family. Whenever I got sick or just wanted someone to read to me or sew for me or fix me something special to eat, I went across to her house. She taught me, read to me, played with me, fed me, and nursed me. When she died, I felt as if a part of myself had died. To this day, in unguarded moments, I still weep with that yearning, homesick feeling just to hear her voice or to see her smile or to feel her hug.
Paul says it is all right to grieve, even more than twenty years after her death. But I am not to grieve as one who has no hope, because we believe that the same Jesus Who died on the cross to offer us forgiveness of sin, and the same Jesus Who was raised from the dead to give us eternal life is the same Jesus Who one day will come again! And when He comes, “God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.” When He comes, He will bring my grandmother with Him!

The Importance Of Hope

Boy do we need hope in this day and age and with Thanksgiving coming and being with family, and the stress of a meal, and everything in between, it's easy to allow things to go astray in your life and mind.

And in my experience when I get overwhelmed, my hope is the first thing to go and I need it. I need something I can put my hope in that there will be a brighter day ahead and with this little devotional, it sues the soul and eases the spirit and brings a person back to life.

God Bless.

The Importance of Hope

Let us hold fast our confession without wavering.

Most Christians have heard much preaching about faith and love, but, in many cases, they have heard comparatively little about hope. Such was my own condition many years ago when I was in desperate need of help from God. I had heard many messages on faith and some preaching on love; but what I needed in that particular situation was hope, and the Holy Spirit had to take me directly to the Scripture because I had never heard a sermon about hope. It was there that the Holy Spirit met my need. For this reason, I am particularly concerned that people understand the importance of hope. I want you to grasp what hope is, how important it is, and how you may have it.

Hope is necessary if we are to maintain both faith and love. Unless we have hope, our faith will “leak out” and our love will fail. Hope is not optional; it is essential to the fullness of the Christian life.

People often say, “Where there’s life, there’s hope.” I think there is a good deal of truth in that statement. But the opposite is also true: Where there’s hope, there’s life—and where there is no hope, there is no life. In my opinion, hopelessness is one of the saddest conditions in human experience. I can hardly think of anything sadder than being hopeless. Yet, countless people in our world today are completely hopeless.

When I am sitting in an airport, taking a walk, or dining in a restaurant, and I look at the faces of other people, I find that many of them have a blank stare of hopelessness. But, thank God, we do not need to be hopeless.

Thank You, Lord, that You are faithful—You give me hope. I proclaim that where there is hope, there is life. I shall hold fast my confession without wavering. Amen.

The Lord Is Close To The Brokenhearted

This is Thanksgiving week and it's officially the start of the holidays but for some of us who have lost people we love, our hearts are a little heavy this season.

With this little devotional, it will help me to get through the weeks to come and I'm so thankful for that.

God Bless.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. (NLT) -Psalm 34:18

Are you missing someone who is very dear to your heart?

The pain may be very deep and even unbearable. And while you may think that no one can truly understand your pain, there is one.

Relinquish your sadness to God, even if it's just for a moment and you will feel comforted. Remember, God loves you and will never give up on you.

Keep The River Flowing

I love sitting by a river and watching the water flow. In fact, one might be surprised as to what actually can float down a river.

One time, while I was sitting and watching the watch, I saw bumper from a car float pass me. Laugh if you like but it's the truth.

As I watched the bumper move along, it appeared to be free from any obstacles but five minutes later, the bumper hit a current and when it did, it sucked the bumper right into the eye of the current. It swirled and if you didn't know any better, you would have thought it was fighting for it's life and doing everything it could to get out the trouble it was in.

About 10 to 20 minutes later, the current spit the bumper out and sent it flying to the other side of the river bank landing into a pile of tree branches that were already in the river. The adventure the bumper was on had now come to an frustrated end.

Ever feel like that bumper? Yeah, me too. That's why I got so much out of this devotional and hopefully you do too.

God Bless.

Keep the River Flowing

Deep inside each of us, there is a river of life. This river is a wonderful gift given to each of us by God. It flows with good health, a positive outlook on life, and a generous and forgiving attitude.

Many people, however, have allowed their river to become stopped-up. They are always discouraged, and no matter what they do, they can't seem to snap out of it. Years of neglect have turned a once-power-flowing river into a small stream. Do you know people like this? Does this sound like your life?

Until you're able to get your river cleared out and unclogged, everything will be difficult, disappointing and unfulfilling. You'll be unable to taste the water that satisfies like nothing else.

Get in the river by clearing what blocks its flow. Make a choice today to stop spending your life fighting, struggling and trudging through the mud with every step. Ask God to help you clear out the debris. He'll show you what's blocking the flow and how to get rid of it. Then, enjoy the satisfying flow of the river of life!

Prayer Starter: God, I want to keep Your river of living water flowing in me. Show me what the debris is that's blocking the way and then show me how to clear it out.

His Plans Are Perfect

Do you truly understand God's plans not only for your life but for anything that is taking place in this world?

Well, there are days that I just sit and shake my head and say, "really God? You got to do it this way?"

I don't know how many times I've told God that if I was Him, things would definitely be different. Aren't you lucky that I'm not Him? You should be.

I love this little devotional. Not only does the author use my favorite character from the bible to illustrate her point but she also shines a light on God's plans and why they are more perfect than mine and this gives me hope.

God Bless.

His Plans Are Perfect

November 19

My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. - 2 Corinthians 12:9, NKJV
“Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female” (Gen. 7:2-3, NIV ). Just how big was Noah’s assignment? We know that there are more than eighteen thousand different species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians today. If the number is doubled to include two of every kind, with several thousand extras added to make up the five additional pairs of each “clean” species, then double all of that to include any that have become extinct, the total figure is about seventy-five thousand animals!
According to the dimensions given, when Noah had all the animals assembled on the ark, only 60 percent of the available space would have been occupied. The remaining 40 percent would be available for food storage and living quarters for Noah’s family. It all worked, as impossible as it had seemed!
God knows what He is doing! His plans are perfect! You can obey His instructions with confidence!

Find The Answers And Power You Need In The Word

The word. It's all we need to get us these troubling times. The word will draw us to the one and only Savior who can change the world. I don't know about you, but I'm anxiously awaiting for something big to happen.

This world is going to hell in a hand basket and if we aren't standing on some sort of solid ground, we are going to fall into the same basket the world is and I for one, am hanging on for dear life believing there is change that is coming around the corner that will change the world.

God Bless.

Find the Answers and Power You Need in the Word

When people ask me where to start reading the Bible, I tell them there's really no wrong place to start. You can study anything that's going to help you.

When I first started studying the Word, I didn't have very good relationships because I didn't really understand what love was. So that's what I studied.

As I studied the subject of love, I learned that it's more than a gooey feeling. It's a decision you make about how you're going to treat people.

By studying what the Bible says about love, I learned how to love. Then my life began to change.
Whatever you're dealing with, you can find scriptures about it by using a concordance. For example, if you're dealing with anger or fear, flip to the concordance in the back of your Bible and locate those words to see which scriptures talk about those issues.

If you can't think of anything right away, thumb through the concordance and pick a subject that grabs your attention. Begin looking at all scriptures referenced with this word and read them. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you and reveal truth to you.
No matter where you start, remember that the Word is alive and has something for you today!

Prayer Starter: Lord, I know that Your Word has something for me today. No matter what I'm dealing with, I'm going to find out what Your Word says about it.

God Wants You To Be Available

I'm going to share a secret with you, I'm not always available for God and what He wants to do in my life.
In fact, I'm more selfish than anything. God, I'm such a selfish person. Maybe it's because I'm the baby of the family or maybe not. I just know I wasn't raise to be so selfish.

However, God has put several things in my life that help keep me balanced. Where once I would have walked by someone who was in need or wouldn't leave a quarter in the cart, I now tend to listen to my conscious and do the right thing but I could stand to use it more than I do.

In fact, I could stand to put God first more and be more available to His way's and His plans and die to myself more and more.

God Bless.

God wants you to be available.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” Matthew 5:16, KJV.

One afternoon while leaving the grocery store, I noticed a woman limping slowly to her car. I looked at her foot and it appeared as though she had just had surgery. She wore a special shoe. So I asked if I could pray for her. I said, “Hi ma’am, I know you don’t know me, but would you mind if I pray for your foot? I believe God loves to heal people.” She looked at me and said, “Yes.” I promised her that I wouldn’t pray a long drawn out prayer. So I touched her leg and prayed, “Father, I pray for my sister. I believe you care when we’re in pain. I pray you heal her foot Father God and take away all the pain. In Jesus’ name, Amen.” With tears in her eyes, she thanked me and asked if she could give me a hug. “Of course,” I told her. I then hugged her and went on my way…thankful to God for using me to bless someone.

God wants you to be available to Him, ready and willing to be used by Him at any given moment. You may not know enough to be a Bible scholar, but you do know Jesus and what He has done for you, and that’s enough to be dangerous to the kingdom of darkness and highly useful in the Kingdom of God!
Prayer: Father God, I thank You for speaking so clearly to me. I cast my cares on you because I know you care for me. I make myself available to you to work through me. I am ready and willing Father. Show your love through me and shine your amazing light. Help me brighten someone’s day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Who We Are

I love this devotional. I love what it is trying to say. It's a good reminder. The content's of this little devotional should resident deep down within us. In this crazy world, let us not become complacence and expect someone else will take care of the world's problems.
If we would become a thankful people and promote thanksgiving as a way of life instead of a last ditch offer, maybe a door will be open to loose Jesus into the situation and a change so massive will take place that will ignite a peace movement that will effect the world.
God Bless.

Who We Are
Albert Lee
You are . . . God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9
In her autobiography, Corrie ten Boom described her and her sister Betsie’s horrific time in a Nazi concentration camp in the early 1940s. On one occasion they were forced to take off their clothes during an inspection. Corrie stood in line feeling defiled and forsaken. Suddenly, she remembered that Jesus had hung naked on the cross. Struck with wonder and worship, Corrie whispered to her sister, “Betsie, they took His clothes too.” Betsie gasped and said, “Oh, Corrie, . . . and I never thanked Him.”
It is easy for us to live thanklessly in a world that is full of trouble, struggles, and woes. On any given day we can find many reasons to complain. However, Psalm 100 exhorts God’s people to be glad, joyful, and thankful for “it is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture” (v. 3). As we remember who we are, we can respond in thanksgiving. For even in the worst of times, we can remember Christ’s love and sacrifice for us.
Don’t let the brutality of the world take away your thankful heart. Remember you are God’s child, and He has shown you His goodness and mercy through His work on the cross.
I thank You, Lord, that though my heart can grow cold at times, when I remember that I am Yours and You are mine, I’m encouraged yet again. Thank You for Your love for me, for Your mercy, and Your sacrifice.
Praise comes naturally when you count your blessings.
Psalm 100 is a doxology, a statement or word (logos)describing the glory (doxa) of God. This psalm forms the conclusion to a series of psalms that celebrate the Lord’s rule in power, glory, and grace. In spite of its brevity, it is considered preeminent among the psalms of praise and thanksgiving. Its superscription—“For giving grateful praise”—is unique to this song. Psalm 100 is used often in liturgical worship and is the basis for several hymns, including “All People that on Earth Do Dwell.” Bill Crowder

This little devotional is so simple and powerful. It speaks to the very heart of alot of our issues we have today.
Sometimes, when our voice fails, His comes out loud and clear.
When our ears, fail to hear, His hears even the smallest of sounds.
He truly does hold the world, our hearts, and everything in beween in palm of His hands.
God Bless.

The Still, Small Voice

November 13

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.Psalm 23:1, NKJV
Do you sometimes cry out, as I have, “God, don’t You see my tears? Don’t You see my broken heart? God, never mind me, but how can You bear to see the agony of my loved one? God, I know that You care. I just don’t understand why You don’t intervene in this situation right now. Why don’t You do something? And, God, why did you do that?!”
Then, to my heart, I seem to hear His still, small voice whispering, “Anne, trust Me. I know what’s best.” And I’m left to wonder why I think I know better than God what’s best for me or my loved one.

A Real Sister Won't Judge You

Being judge is the worst thing. Most of the time you want to scream at people and give them a piece of your mind.

But the fact is, most people don't know both sides of the issues and they don't want to know. They like what they hear and then they like the fact what they can do with the information the obtain or think they know.

So whether your a woman or a man, everyone can get something out of this little devotional.

God Bless.

A real sister won’t judge you.

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” John 8:32, NIV

The fear of being judged can cause us to not open up like we should.

After opening up about an issue that I had held onto for fear of being judged or preached at, a friend told me, “Why are you acting like you’re alone? You’re not alone! I deal with the same thing and God is working on me too.” That blessed me and was not the response I thought I would hear. We then talked further about our fears and insecurities, and by the end of the conversation we were both laughing, crying and bringing our hearts to the Lord in prayer. It was a beautiful moment. If I would have closed my heart from sharing honestly with her, I would have missed an opportunity to grow closer with my sister and dear friend.

The closeness you desire in your relationships is found in your openness and honesty. Be careful not to assume that your sister in Christ will respond negatively to your pain or problems. A real sister won’t judge you or put you down. She’ll provide love and comfort. She’ll remind you that she is also still being conformed to the image of Jesus and are being worked on just like you.

Be a real sister to someone, and let someone be a real sister to you.

Prayer: I praise You Father God and I thank You for speaking directly to my heart. I know I’m not alone in the things I face. I come against pride and I humble myself now. I receive Your grace and truth. Thank You for Your love. Thank you that I don’t have to fear opening to You and those You’ve placed in my life. Help me to be a real sister and show me how to let others be a real sister to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

So Don't Worry About Tomorrow

It is easy to say don't worry about tomorrow when everything in your mind is shouting the opposite.

Sometimes it's hard to get through today and you have a tendency to believe things won't change in a day.

Not so if you believe in a God of miracles, abundance, and total healing s of wounds, life problems, and everything in between.

This little devotional talks about why you shouldn't worry about tomorrow and shows the root cause. Yep, it's all about that fear. Fear is a killer, literately. It has no place in one's life. I know tell that to someone who has it all together.

That is why we must press on, trust on, and believe in the one who can and will bring fear to a grinding halt.

God Bless.

So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today. (NLT) -Matthew 6:34

At the very root of worry is fear. Fear of the unknowns or what if's can erode away the security we find in God. Don't let this fear overtake you and allow the worry to creep in your thoughts.

Place your confidence in Jesus that He will provide and comfort you. Then pray.

The Enemy Has A Plan Too

Do you ever think that you have an enemy? Or do you give him too much recognition? Or you like me and are too busy or blah to give it a second thought.

This little devotional helps to put your enemy in the forefront of your problems and then how to send him packing into the depths of the deepest part of hell.

Knowledge is power! And power will bring us into the light for the world to see.

God Bless.

The Enemy Has a Plan Too

God has a plan for your life, but the devil has a plan for you too. As a result, the Bible says we need to "be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times."

Temperate means 'disciplined,' sober of mind means 'serious,' vigilant means 'determined' and cautious means 'careful.' We are to live like this 'at all times.' That's serious.

But we need to get serious to fight off the enemy. Whenever God shows you an area in your life where the enemy is attacking you, that's not the time to sit back and do nothing. It's time to get serious and fight back against Satan.

God's plan is for us to be more than conquerors in Christ. We don't have to live enslaved to the enemy's plan. You can decide right now to do what you need to do. Get serious with God, follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and stay on guard against the enemy. Choose today to follow God's plan for your life, not Satan's, and you will defeat the enemy at every turn.

Prayer Starter: God, I choose Your plan, not the enemy's. Show me the areas where he is attacking me and guide me in defeating him.

The Best Way To Start The Day

Ever wonder the best way to start the day? Or better yet, do you have a hard time like I do to even start your day before noon?

This little devotional is great and insightful for today and in days to come. Love it, live it, and walk it out!

God Bless.

The Best Way to Start the Day

How do you start your day? Do you hurriedly get out of bed and barely make it out the door on time? Do you turn on the TV? Do you go exercise? Whatever your morning routine may be, the most important question you need to ask yourself is, "What role does God play when I start my day?"

It took me a lot of years to figure this out, but I now know that the very best way to start my day is by giving thanks to God for what He's done for me and asking Him how I can be a blessing to other people.

I encourage you to spend time each morning focusing on the good things God has done in your life. Think about the dangers and difficulties He's brought you through, the ways He's healed you and changed you, and
how good it is to know He cares for you and hears your prayers.

When you learn to set your mind on God each morning, He'll give you all the peace and joy you need to live for Him as you go about the rest of your day.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I make a decision today to pursue You first thing when I get up every morning. Nothing is more important than seeking You and receiving Your peace and joy.

Anything is possible

Do you believe in the possible? Do you believe that God can do the impossible?

Yeah, not so much right? Yet somehow I know that God is waiting patiently for the believers of this world to step their game and believe for the imaginable.

We need something grand to happen in this world. Something that people can grab a hold of and believe in times of trouble.

People are searching high and low for the impossible. The same is for Christians and I beleive it begins with us believing and not giving up our hope when things look bleak.

Hope is the key, Jesus is the light, and the Holy Spirit can make the impossible the way of life.

God Bless.

"What do you mean, If I can?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if a person believes." (NLT) -Mark 9:23

Some days can be a bit lackluster or uninspiring. If you're having too many of those days, maybe it's time to be inspired to do great things. It's possible if you believe.

However, this belief is not in your capabilities but rather in God who can provide for you something far greater than what you're thinking now. Use your imagination then trust God!

A Divine Appointment

This little devotional is great for this time of season. Do you see Thanksgiving as a divine appointment? I'm not saying that you should but maybe it's time we start seeing things differently.

Maybe it's time to start to see the grocery shopping, the gas fueling, and everything in between as an appointment that was setup by God. Maybe everything that happens outside our little home is an appointment to make someone's day, to change a life, or to share the good news of hope we have in a crazy world.

Let us not take things so lightly or underestimate the circumstances of our life.

God Bless.

A Divine Appointment

Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation.Psalm 62:1, NKJV
Have you ever considered that you have a divine appointment when you get up early for your quiet time of prayer and meditation on His Word? . . . That Jesus is patiently, personally waiting to meet with you there?
Have you ever thought of going to church as a divine appointment? . . . That Jesus is patiently, personally waiting to meet with you there?
Have you ever thought of the Bible study you belong to as a divine appointment? . . . That Jesus is patiently, personally waiting to meet with you there?
What a difference it would make in our attitude of expectancy and our habit of consistency if we truly wrapped our hearts around the knowledge that each is a divine appointment, that Jesus Himself is waiting to meet with us.

Forget Me Not

Oh the danger of excess in one's life. When everything is going good we have a tendency to forget. Surely I am not the only one to forget where I came from.

I forget God in the good times and most of the time, I don't even acknowledged Him in the bad. Yet, I strive on and with Thanksgiving right around the corner, it serves as a reminder, as I eat excessively, I need to put my thoughts and feelings, heart and soul into where it maters and put all my focus on not forgetting the person who has brought me through and to this season in life.

God Bless.

But when you had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me. (NLT) -Hosea 13:6

Excess is a real struggle for many in our culture.

With freezers full of frozen food, clothes for every season, and shelter for our cars, it's no wonder we're so proud. We must not forget where these provisions come from. Don't forget to thank God everyday for all that He has provided. Not only does it show appreciation; most importantly it will keep you humble.

There Is No Goodness Apart From God

I love the concept of this little devotional. There is no goodness apart from God. Amen. It's over. Nothing more too say.

Only to believe. And in tough times and in just plain everyday life, that is hard to do. So indeed it comes down to the battle that rages in your mind and most of the time, the mind wins.

So let's change the battle strategy, let us begin this season of Thanksgiving in the knowledge there is no goodness apart from God and let's go win the war!

God Bless.

There is no goodness apart from God.

Some people assume God is angry most of the time and that his favor only lasts a moment, but the Bible tells us it’s just the opposite! You are always the apple of His eye even when you feel like spoiled fruit.

God has moved on from that bad thing you did or that terrible thing you said. He may have been angry or disappointed in the moment, but He’s moved on. Have you? You don’t have to worry about falling out of favor because of a failure.

God’s goodness is ongoing and never runs out. His favor is always around us, on us, and with us; God’s favor is forever!

In fact, goodness does not exist apart from God; it did not originate on it’s own—aside of, or apart from him. It’s definitely not something that originates with human beings (Do you have to train your children to be bad, or good?).

God is the source of all goodness and all good things. Some people still separate good from God, which can deteriorate mankind’s need to thank, honor, and worship him.

This study is about starting the journey to train your eyes to see the otherwise unseen goodness of God and what his favor looks like in your everyday life. For the next 5 days you will begin to see your life through the lens of God’s favor.

Think about it: What are some good things in your life that are easy to overlook?

PRAY: God, thank you for being present in my life. Help me to open up my eyes to see that you are the source of all good things and that you bring favor into my life everyday. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Lord Will Vindicate Me

It's the month of Thanksgiving, literately! It's the start of the holiday season. For me, it is the most exciting time of the year. I love Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is a time for more than just a reflection and turkey and stuffing. For me, Thanksgiving is a story of hope waiting to be written.

A story of forgiveness. A story to be written in truth. A story to be written in the knowledge that God is still on the throne and knows all about you and your cares.

Thanksgiving is more than just us being grateful but also a chance of redemption to start a life that is full of the blessings of God and is worth the price of living.

God Bless.

Psalm 138:8 The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands. Lord God, transform our hearts towards complete reliance upon You. Help us seek to know You and become ambassadors of Your Love.

Let gratitude, thanksgiving, and repentance flood through our hearts and minds as we work out our salvation with fear and trembling. As we imperfectly walk, lead us to repentance. Help us not to fear Your throne of grace or be captive to shame, a great saboteur of our relationship.

You have invited us to come as we are, promised to not abandon us, promised to be with us and deliver us from evil! Lord Jesus, I surrender ALL to You! Amen!
