Some say looking straight into a light can damage your eyes. Some say if you stare at the sun long enough your sight will be gone for a few minutes.
I don't know if any of that is true but I say, if you are going to look into something, try looking into the God's eye's. The only light that has and will ever beam everything the world needs.
And if you have walked away from the Light, don't worry, it shines as bright in the earliest hours of the morning to the deepest darkest hours of the night. You can't out run it, nothing can outshine it, and you won't be able to live without it once you've seen what it can do.
The only requirement is accept it and keep your eye on it for it is always pushing you toward the mark of the prize which is the Redeemer of the world.
God Bless.
Keep Your Eyes on the Light
by Gloria Copeland
“You will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal (squalid and dark) place, until the day breaks through [the gloom] and the Morning Star rises (comes into being) in your hearts.” 2 Peter 1:19, The Amplified Bible Do you know what the most important thing in your life is? It’s not where you work. It’s not even your family. The most important thing in your life is keeping your heart full of the light of God’s Word.
You can have faith strong enough to change circumstances in your life. You can live in victory instead of defeat. But you’ll only do it continually by spending time in God’s Word. Proverbs 4:20-23 spells out this key to success in no uncertain terms: “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” If your heart is full of the Word, you can get a good job—the best job! You can pray your family into line. And the way to get the Word in your heart is through your ears and your eyes. That’s how you keep the Word in the midst of your heart. That’s why you put God’s Word first place in your life. It’s the answer to everything. When you give your attention to the Word of God, every other area in your life will be successful. You see, God’s Word shows you how to live victoriously, even in a dark world. When you walk according to the Word, it shines a light on your pathway. The Apostle Peter talks about that light of the Word. He says to pay close attention to it like you would a lamp shining in a dark place. Continually focus your attention on the Word of God, and you can fight the good fight of faith and win even when negative circumstances surround you. Keep your eyes on the light, and you will have light. It will bring you through to victory! Speak the Word “I attend to the Word of God. I keep it in the midst of my heart. It is life to me and health to all my flesh.” —Proverbs 4:20-22
